The Sound Devices A20-Shelf is a 1 RU, 19" rack shelf designed specifically to accommodate two A20-Nexus receivers or one A20-Nexus and one PowerStation-8M side by side. An A20-Nexus or PowerStation-8M can be mounted to the left, center, or right of the shelf. The shelf's rack ears have multiple fixing holes, allowing the depth of the shelf to be adjusted. The shelf has no front lip to block the touchscreen on the A20-Nexus receiver.

Q: 4. I have a Sound Devices 788T and want to get a break-away that also sends timecode. This looks like the only one. Will it also work with the 788T? By looking at the picture, I can assume it will--with minor adaptation. 1) I already have TA3 to XLR cables for the mixer outputs and 2) would just have to adapt the 1/8 TRS back to TA3 or XLR and use an input channel to monitor return--or get a switcher box and use the 1/8 straight out. Am I making all the right assumptions here? Safe to buy? :-)

A: Can't see why it wouldn't work the way you've described. You could also have Pro Sound or Gotham Sound in NYC make you a custom end for the 788 for this.

Q: 5. I believe that, in US, you can either record on the unit OR use as a transmitter, but not both at same time. Is that right? If so, why?

A: Simultaneous Record and Transmit mode is not available on A20-Mini units sold or operated in the United States of America. A different manufacturer owns the patent to the technology to do both at the same time.

A: Unfortunately no, there is not currently a comparable option that is capable of recording in 32-bit and transmit over UHF frequencies at the same time. As of January 2023, this is still proprietary technology.
