Conserve the valuable floor space in your studio or workspace while still being able to hang lights and position them with the Impact Wall Mount Scissor Boom. The boom, also known as a pantograph-style boom, features robust steel construction and can be mounted onto masonry or wood. It supports light fixtures and/or other gear weighing up to 11 lb, and it provides a wide range of swivel, height, and reach adjustments for the perfect light and accessory placement. The pantograph delivers a 31" vertical adjustment range, and the riser adds another 13" of height adjustment. The WM-SB gives you the option of low-angle, eye-level, or overhead lighting with a single boom arm.

Sporting a 5/8" baby pin with an integrated 3/8"-16 threaded screw, you can mount your light or accessory on the boom's riser and extend it up to 55" from the wall. In addition, you can swing the boom 180° for precise positioning while extended. When it's not in use, you can reduce clutter by swiveling the pantograph to the wall, so it takes up less than 5" of space. All this while minimizing the chance of tripping over or bumping your light stands in a less cluttered working space.

The pantograph extends up to 55", so you don't need to go through the difficulty of moving gear around in small areas crowded with light stands and tripods. The pantograph allows you to move a light close to your subject for portraits and tabletop shots.

The WM-SB is designed to keep loads of up to 11 lb securely suspended off the wall, and every part of this scissor boom is designed to carry the weight of your lights or accessories without sacrificing smooth swivel or reach adjustments. Once your gear is mounted, you can smoothly glide it into the perfect spot for your exposure or video.

Large ergonomic T-handles provide a good grip allowing you to exert enough torque to loosen and secure the locking knobs when adjusting the length, height, and swivel.

Concrete wall-mounting anchors are included. If mounting the boom arm on a wood surface, make sure to use appropriate mounting hardware.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Mine stand did not come with a latch for the sandbag... where can I get one? What are they called?

A: There is a loop on the end of the boom for a clip. Any basic carabineer styled clip would work.

Q: 2. Will a sand bag help increase the weight limit? If not what's my next best option for approximately the same price?

A: The sand bag will help with keeping the stand balanced and from tipping over, but it will not increase the structural support. That being said, I chose this stand over the Manfrotto of the same design because the boom angle adjuster is significantly stronger.

Q: 3. Not counting the boom arm, how many sections does the stand have?

A: Two. The boom arm adds two more as a stand only

Q: 4. What all is included with this item? What gear comes with it? I looked at the In the Box tab, but I just wanted to make sure.

A: Mine came with the stand, boom arm, spigot, and empty sand bag.

Q: 5. Can this hold a reflector? Do I need to buy any additional attachments?

A: This can easily hold a reflector. You best and cost effective solution would to get some A clamps and clamp the reflector to the arm. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/3bmuuqm

Q: 6. What microphone holders are best to use with this stand?

A: This comes with a 3/8 screw which is compatible with many Audio items

Q: 7. Will this boom stand work with the Impact Boom Arm (Black, Chrome-plated, 86 )?

A: The one it comes with is good you dont need that .

Q: 8. What is a good bag i.e. one that does not cost as much as the boom stand?

A: If you are looking for an economically-priced case compatible for use with the Impact Combo Boom Stand (12.95') for storage and travel purposes, I would recommend the Ruggard Deluxe Padded 48" Tripod Case (Black), B&H # RUBD3048, or the Tenba T488 TriPak - for Tripod, Light Stand or Umbrella up to 47" long, B&H # TET488B, the K&M 21311 Carrying Case for Speaker/Light Stands(Black), B&H # KM21311, for your usage needs.

Q: 9. What is the smallest height that this collapses to? Looking to see if it will fit in my travel bag.

A: Closed Length: 45"

Q: 10. Can you attached a gvm 800d light on it?

A: Yes a GVM 800D RGB panel can be attached on the end of this boom.

[Steel] We use these at our Studio in PA. They are perfect for moving your lights around to accommodate different shots

[26 lb] I mounted this in my studio onto a 2x4 vertical post. It swings and extends easily and supports a modest monolight no problem. Saves a lot of floor space not having to set up a tall light stand. Seems to be built very well.

[Wall Mount Boom] I purchased these at a special price. I installed it yesterday to use for my strobes and for the items I photograph for a client. He called and brought over his latest piece and it was PERFECT. I was able to manipulate the arms to where I needed them. I opted to change the mounting method by creating a 19 x 19 mounting plate out of plywood then mount that onto two studs, then boom arm plate to the plywood, and a solid surface for the lag bolts and the screws.
I love the ability to move strobes to 90 degrees straight or 90 degrees up. So much versatility between strobes and studio lights for videos. Bonus... fewer stands on the floor.

[26 lb] I work in a small home office, which doubles as a video studio now that I'm regularly posting to YouTube. There's no room for tripods, so I've had my camera and lighting mounted to a couple of manfrotto auto poles. This was a way better solution than tripods and gave me the opportunity to experiment with placement. But I'm still ducking around my big soft box and moving them is a minor hassle in that I have to take the light down and rehang it.

I saw this scissor noon a while ago and thought it could be a better option. When it went on sale I finally bought it.

To be headline says it all. I can quickly and easily reposition the camera.. sitting, standing, even yo the side of my desk to shoot b roll. and then it ticks away - with the camera still mounted - and leaves my office feeling almost normal, instead of the weird video junk sculpture vibe I've been rocking.

And it's built like a tank. I have no idea how this doesn't cost twice as much.

I've ordered a second one for my light.

Order it! You won't regret it!

[26 lb] This boom arm is very versatile and strong. I have put a Godox AD400 Pro on it with a medium size softbox and there are no stability issues. Make sure you have enough room for this arm, with the minimum length of it, it could be too big for small studios. Mounting higher on a wall will give you a bit more flexibility.

I have mine mounted to a piece of plywood that was mounted to a stud first, then mounted the boom arm onto the plywood.

[Steel] This is not your typical application... I needed to have lights over some woodworking tools in a garage with very tall ceilings. The 7' reach on these boom arms worked great, and I can extend the reach further by connecting a tube to the end.
Suggestion: mount at least 2 of the 4 mounting screws into studs, or upgrade the wall anchors.

[Wall Mount Boom] I use this to get overhead camera mounted or shotgun mic over head. Very adjustable and feels very solid. Mounted this with my own screws to a wall stud. The included screws turned out to be useless for this purpose.
