Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the BG30 battery compatible with the DJI Focus Pro Grip?

A: No, the DJI Focus Pro has an integrated battery.

Q: 2. does this work well on the bmpcc 6k camera with the 18-35 sigma lens?

A: Not that we are aware of.

Q: 3. Will this work on any camera (with a manual focus lens) or does the camera still needs to be compatible to the RS2 gimbal?

A: The DJI Ronin 3D Focus System for RS 2 Gimbal (B&H# DJR3DFS) itself will work with any lens posessing a linear focusing ring using the correct RS 2 focus motor and can be calibrated using the RS 2 gimbal if that lens has hard stops for maximum and minimum focus. The camera itself does not really need to be compatible with the RS 2 gimbal if the RS 2 gimbal is locked. In such a situation, the 3D Focus System will still work, but of course the camera cannot be moved or stabilized with the gimbal's axes locked.

Q: 4. Will this battery grip work with the RS3 (not Pro)?

A: The DJI Ronin BG30 Grip for RS 2 & RS 3 Pro Gimbals takes the RS2 batteries and cannot work with the RS3. The RS3 takes the BG31 grip.

Q: 5. What’s the weight?

A: The exact weight is not listed. How the weight with package is .7 pounds. It should be close to that.

Q: 6. Does the bottom of this battery grip have a 3/8 16 threaded screw hole? Or is it 1/4 20?

A: It has a 1/4"-20 screw hole

Q: 7. How long does the battery last for the Ronin RS4 Pro in active use? just powering the ronin, no other accesories

A: As power consumption will vary based on usage and payload, DJI only states that the DJI Ronin BG30 Grip for RS 2 & RS 3 Pro Gimbals on the DJI RS 4 Pro Gimbal Stabilizer will last up to 13 hours with the gimbal balanced in a level and stationary state. Frequent movement and heavy, unbalanced payloads will reduce this run time considerably.

Q: 8. Can this work independently, if yes can u power it from the camera without the gimbal

A: This requires the DJI focus motors for the RS2 to function, and to use the motors they must be plugged into the gimbal.

Q: 9. One question, what is the difference between this battery and the new BG21 model?

A: The BG21 Grip is not compatible with DJI RS 3 Pro or DJI RS 2. So, if you have either of those gimbals, you will need to purchase the BG30.

Q: 10. Is the BG30 compatible with the DJI Focus Pro hand grip as an alternative to the BG21 battery grip?

A: Yes, the DJI Ronin BG30 Grip for RS 2 & RS 3 Pro Gimbals could be used with the DJI Focus Pro Grip (BH #DJFPG) instead of the DJI BG21 Grip for RS 3 Gimbal (BH #DJRSBG21).

[0.59 lb] Work perfect. I buy it the second battery and was perfect because for long day shooting more than 4 hours if you have one will be dead at 3 or 4 hours of use. Example this weekend in a wedding all day the second battery safe my day

[12 to 20 VDC] The grip came just as expected. Just charge it with the original USB C cable and you're ready to go (or any other USB C charger should work, I have even used my computer charger before). I bought it because I film weddings and I have found myself needing to charge the gimbal at some point throughout the day, which is not preferable. By buying this and another foot stand (took one from my old Ronin S), I am able to simply switch out grips in a matter of seconds and keep shooting.

[0.59 lb] It had the RS4 gimbal (base model) and truly the BG21 battery would run out way before the day is over. I got this to bolster the BG21 battery and it was certainly worth it. It's the same battery on the pro gimbal so you are certain it will carry you through a full day shoot.
