The Voigtlander D35mm f/2 Macro Apo-Ultron Nikon Z Lensby Voigtlander D35mm f/2 Macro Apo-Ultron Nikon Z Lenshas a maximum aperture of f/2, an exceptionally large aperture for a macro lens, yet it remains compact in size. This special manual focus method enables the lens to shorten the lens extension, compared to the method of extending the entire optical system, while at the same time ensuring stable image quality at both long distance and extremely close-up.

This all-metal design combines a beautiful appearance, reminiscent of the past, with functionality that enhances manual operation. The all-metal helicoid ring provides a silky smooth focusing feel. In addition to the shallow focusing effect of close-up photography, the large bokeh effect is characteristic of large-aperture macro photography and expands the possibilities for creative photographs.

This lens is recommended not only for macro photography, but also for table photography, portraits, and landscapes, as it offers image quality that can be used with confidence regardless of the distance to the subject. A compact, straight-type dedicated screw-in hood is included.

Q: 7. Does the lens hood have filter threads on the front? If so, what diameter in mm does it have?

A: The Voigtlander MACRO APO-LANTHAR 65mm f/2 Aspherical for Nikon Z will mount directly to the Nikon ZF camera without the use of an adapter. Q: 9. Whats the optical difference between this Fuji and the M mount version?

A: When comparing Voigtlander Macro APO-Ultron 35mm f/2 Lens for FUJIFILM X-Mount to Voigtlander Ultron Vintage Line 35mm f/2 Aspherical Type II VM Lens (Black) the Fuji mount lens has one extra lens element that offers slightly better image quality. That makes the Fuji lens slightly larger and heavier.

Q: 10. What is the free working distance of this lens (e.g., distance from lens to object focused at 1:2 magnification)?I see that the minimum focusing distance is 12.2 , but that isn't my question.

A: Johnathan, I just measured the working distance of the Voighlander 65mmat its closest focus point and it is between 7 and 6.inches. Hopefully that meets your needs as everything about this lens is great especially the image quality. It really is as good as people have said. It is old school quality, the only thing. I would like to see changed is the magnification 1:1.5 is a little small for my. needs.Good luck

[f/2] I use this lend with my Leica M for street photography. Its absolutely perfect for this and I used it with great effect recently in New York. B and H is the go to place for all such gear and the staff are highly knowledgeable and great to deal with

[f/22] I use this lens on my sl2, and it renders images beautifully. It handles the extra mega pixels of the sl2 very well, and produces great colors and contrasts.

[Nikon Z] Years ago I had full frame Nikon gear. One of my favourite lenses was a Zeiss 50mm F2 Makro. This lens gets me back to that experience and improves things significantly.

This Voigtlander 35mm F/2 delivers that same immersive MF experience and, delivers that experience with stellar imaging capabilities. Really good saturation, excellent contrast even wide open, velvety smooth bokeh with a really clean transition from in-focus to out-of-focus.

VERY easy to focus on my X-H2 and X-T5 bodies: I use a 1/2 press of the shutter and watch focus peaking racking forward and backward in the viewfinder (especially easy to see @ F/2) . When I let go of the shutter release and touch the focus ring my Fuji bodies zoom to 200% for precision focus placement. So I can get very close and then very accurate in under 1.5 seconds.

Plus: 10 aperture blades deliver a velvety OOF with no outlining or onion ring effects to detract from the bokeh, gasket at the lens mount, fully electronic communication and, designed specifically for Fuji bodies.

Highly recommended!

[Yes] Smooth focus throw, great contrast and clarity. What you expect from a macro lens, super sharp. Great for product photo or a fast normal lens on APSC. Sharp from F2 on ...

[52 mm (Front)] Using this on a NEX with Leica M adapter. Good glass makes or breaks a shot no matter the camera body. This lens does not disappoint. Very solid build, smooth focus, solid aperture clicks. Excellent in bright or low light. The RAW file output with this setup is usable for print with no post adjustments!

[1.03 lb] Let me start off by saying I use this on a Sony A7R with a voigtlander close focus m to e adapter. This lens has blown away all expectations. I own a lot of premium glass like the Canon L glasses and Zeiss lenses and can easily say this lens blows them away because of the sharpness wide open. I've always had to stop my glass down to get desired results but not with the Voigtlander. I included my first shot taken with the glass, it was at night, shot wide open, handheld, Shutterspeed set to 50, ISO 1600, unedited and jpeg not raw. Camera set to Black and white and I used a yellow filter. Even with all of those things working against it, I was able to get a decent shot. The Bokeh is fantastic and the aperture blades give you a perfect starburst effect. It's incredible. Buy it now and never have to worry about owning another super wide range lens (for full frame).

[52 mm (Front)] I bought this lens mostly for interesting interiors--it's fast enough to use indoors even with slow film (the attached was taken with TMax 100, handheld at, I think, 1/30 and f/1.8). It pairs well with the Bessa R4M, which has frame lines at 21mm. Really remarkable, unique lens. It also has an extremely close minimum focus, but note that the focus range actually extends beyond the minimum point of the rangefinder coupling. In my experiments so far I haven't found this to be a problem--it's just about a foot between the rangefinder limit and the lens limit, so that's easy to estimate.

[Yes] I bought this lens as an alternative to the equivalent Leica lens and I am very happy with the decission.

When set in the Leica camera as a 21 or even 28 mm lens it works flawlesly.

A great lens for its price for the Leica M system

[1.03 lb] I purchased two of the Voigtlander X-Mount lenses, the 27mm f/2.8 and the 35mm APO Macro f/2.0. Both of these lenses are a work of art with beautiful, solid build, quality aperture and focusing control, and typical Voigtlander stellar optics. Plus the manual focus is mechanical in the lens (very precise), not focus-by-wire as with most AF X-Mount lenses. Lastly the electrical contacts to the body provides lens info for EXIF data.

The Voigtlander 35mm APO Macro is lighter than the Fujifilm 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR lens, although manual focus, one stop slower, and an APO design. The Voigtlander lens is very easy to focus on both the X-T5 and X-H2, and definitely sharp enough for the 40MP sensors. Plus this lens allows the shooter to get really close to subjects (not 1:1 macro, but close at 1:2 ratio). If you are looking for an all-purpose, stellar 35mm (50mm equiv) lens for your Fuji body, this is it. I feel this lens is as good as the Fujifilm 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR, and which lens ends up on my X-H2 depends on if I want auto focus or precise mechanical manual focus.
