This 3-stop, 67mm Hoya HD MKII IRND Filter 67mm 3-Stopfrom Hoya HD MKII IRND Filter 67mm 3-Stopfeatures HOYA's exclusive ACCU-ND technology, which achieves equal reduction of the light in visible and IR spectrums. This added IR filtration eliminates issues with color shift in any shooting conditions, when compared to conventional ND filters.

Neutral density filters are important for filmmakers and photographers because they allow precise control over the amount of light passing through the lens. For filmmakers, this means shutter speeds that match camera frame-rate while maintaining creative depth-of-field control. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase motion blur to convey a sense of movement, or to dial in a video camera framerate. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background.

The HD MK II IRND Series neutral density filters feature an anti-reflection multi-coating that reduces reflections caused by scattered light rays, which is an important concern during long exposures. In addition, a waterproof and oil repellent top-coat is applied for easy cleaning and maintenance.

The filter is mounted into a low-profile, lightweight, precision-milled aluminum frame. This frame design takes extra care to prevent light leaks and bleeding around the filter that may occur during long exposures. The slim filter frame can be used on most wide-angle lenses without vignetting. It features front filter threads for attaching additional filters or a protective lens cap.

If a single ND filter does not satisfy the requirement of the situation, or the photographer's vision, a combination of filters can be useful. For example: the combination of the HD MKII IRND 64 plus the HD MKII IRND 1000 will provide 16 stops of light reduction, enough to allow a camera to capture an image of the surface of the sun without overexposure.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. May this 72mm filters fit on a 18-35mm Sigma lens ??

A: The Hoya 72mm NXT Plus Circular Polarizer Filter is not a thin filter so it might vignette a wide lens such as the Sigma 18-35mm. This Hoya HD3 is thin and would be a better option: https://bhpho.to/2pRzaOn

Q: 2. Best polarizing filter for Fuji XT3

A: This Hoya filter is good as well as the B+W brand filter. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/34wEADH

Q: 3. So I have this for my Panasonic HCX1 but no matter what I do it won't focus. Is they any fish eye lens for 67mm HCX1?

A: It will be optimal to use fixed focus with the Panasonic HC-X1 Ultra HD 4K Professional Camcorder and the Opteka 67mm 0.3X HD Ultra Fisheye Lens Adapter. If the lens is still causing an issue, consider working with a larger filter thread and a step-up ring, as 67mm fish eye options are limited. The Opteka 72mm 0.3X HD Ultra Fisheye Lens Adapter is an example. See the link below: https://bhpho.to/3XAqJnA

Q: 4. Is this a thin filter? What is the thickness of it?

A: Although Hoya does not publish the thickness of the NXT Plus Circular Polarizer, it would not be the thinnest option from Hoya. You may want to look to the Hoya 72mm HD3 Circular Polarizer Filter, BH # HOCPHD372 which is less likely to cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses. https://bhpho.to/3LXhNmp

Q: 5. What country are Hoya filters made in?

A: The Hoya 67mm NXT Circular Polarizer Filter is manufactured in the Philippines.

Q: 6. Hello,I noticed the only difference between this Hoya circular polarizer and last years model is this one is not coated. What is the benefit of a non-coated filter?Sincerely,Daniel

A: The main benefit of a non-coated filter is a lower price point. A multi-coated filter will provide dramatically improved light transmission and resistance to glare. If you have the option to spend more for multi-coating, I would definitely recommend it.

Q: 7. Why won’t this filter tighten on my lens? It’s a 62mm and that what my lens takes.

A: The loose portion is the adjustment ring for polarization. Otherwise the filter will fit tight to your filter thread on the lens.

Q: 8. will this fit the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 lens?

A: yes

Q: 9. Is there a version of this cable that is compatible with the Canon c70?

A: No these isn't one that support the canon c70

Q: 10. Does this work with the C300 Mark III?

A: Yes, the Tilta Nucleus-Nano Run/Stop Cable for Canon C200/C300 MkII (BH# TIRSLCT04CNC) has the correct 2.5mm connector for the Canon EOS C300 Mark III Digital Cinema Camera Body (EF Lens Mount) (B&H# CAC3003EF) and is compatible with it.
