Compact, portable, and fully-adjustable, the Cambo ACTUS-MV View Camera Body with Bellows Mount Kitis compatible with digital backs as well as mirrorless and DSLR camera bodies. Designed to offer all the movements a studio photographer requires, the front and rear standards provide generous and precisely geared movements for rise, fall, and shift application. Additionally, when working with an inclined rail, tilting both the front and rear standards allows you to restore perpendicularity when desired. To position the focus plane, the front standard offers swing and tilt movements in extremely small increments, and a similar mechanism at the rear of the camera body allows for fine focusing. Meanwhile, friction knobs on the left side of the camera can be tightened for unintended camera movements on the rail.

The base configuration of a ACTUS-MV consists of a monorail, front assembly without lensplate, and a rear frame which accepts a camera bayonet holder or digital back frame. Optional bellows can then be added depending on the application.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does product compare to using a Nikon 85mm Tilt/shift pce lens on a Nikon D810?

A: Using the Actus system allows you to do several movements with the front and rear standard simultaneously. With the 85mm Tilt/Shift you are limited to Tilt or Shift.

Q: 2. Will this focus to infinity with a Nikon Z body?

A: Yes, the Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with 15mm Lens Kit for Nikon Z will focus to infinity on Nikon Z mount cameras.

Q: 3. Does this work with the Nikon D810 ?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the Nikon D810.

Q: 4. How does this differ from the Actus G? And would this work with the BMPCC6K Pro on the back? Thanks

A: Yes, you may need to be creative regarding mounting it to be sure it'll fit,. But you could use it with with the BMPCC6K Pro, yes. This and the Actus G are substantially the same but the B2 comes with the various camera mounts as currently shown (June 2021) on this webpage. The tilt, rail, and other adjustment abilities are the same.

Q: 5. I would like to use the Cambo B-4 with a Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Camera to photograph architecture. What lenses would I need to have infinity focus and have the whole sensor of the camera covered? Thanks

A: If you’d like to use a mirrorless Nikon on the Actus, you need the Actus-G combined with Nikon Z bayonet. The Actus-B4 is for use with Nikon DSLR cameras. The Actar-24 is designed to cover the full sensor and more. You’ll have 10mm of shift to both sides. Physically more, but beyond 10 the quality deteriorates. The Actar-35 is also a good option, but this lens is a retrofit, meaning the client needs to send in his lens to us and we rebuild it. Nikon F lenses can also be used on the Actus/Nikon-Z combination. There won’t be any limitations in focussing to infinity, but in general the image circle of these lenses is too small to be of any use.

Q: 6. Along with a Nikon D810 I also have a Pentax 645Z system with a 120mm f4 medium format lens. Will this combination work together?

A: You can use your Nikon D810 with the 120mm lens if you use Cambo ACB-P645. There isn't a bayonet available to mount the Pentax 645Z body to the Actus. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1131846-REG/cambo_99070719_lensplate_with_pentax_645_lens.html

Q: 7. Will the Canon M6 Mark II work on the Actus-B2?

A: This an EF mount on the ACTUS-B2. While it is possible to adapt for use with an EF-M camera, it has not been tested to our knowledge.

Q: 8. Hello. I own two DSLR bodies, a Canon Rebel SL1 with APS-C sensor and a Nikon D800 with a full-frame sensor. I also have a large array of Nikkor full-frame lenses. May I use the Actus-B2 with Canon EF mount to pair the APS-C Rebel SL1 with a full-frame Nikkor lens to provide a greater circle of coverage for view camera movements? Thank you very much.

A: This will not enable the use of Nikon lenses on an EF body; the purpose of this device is to use DSLR lenses effectively as a view camera (large format). You can instead use an adapter.

Q: 9. Would this system work with my mirrorless EOS R? I still shoot EF via an adapter, but not sure that would affect the function.

A: If you are using the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R on the Canon EOS R Mirrorless Camera, you can mount your setup directly on the Cambo ACTUS-B2 View Camera Body with Canon EF Bayonet Mount Kit (Black) without issue.

Q: 10. With 147mm of travel to focus, I'm thinking that the Nikor W 150mm F5.6 S LF lens is just a tad too long. Is that correct?

A: Unfortunately if you are looking to use a Nikon F mount lens, with an F mount body it is not possible to do so and maintain infinity focus. Doing so would turn the Actus into a strange set of "extension tubes" that would not be a functional solution. I would instead recommend Mamiya RB/RZ lenses and large format lenses 100mm and greater for maximum compatibility.

[7.655 lb] I fiddled with tilt shift lenses for some time and was never completely happy with their performance. The Cambo Actus-G (BH# CAAGCBBK) is a much more flexible solution and is only a bit more expensive than some of the tilt-shift lenses. Of course you do need to buy a suitable lens with a large image circle. I'm using this with a Nikon F mount camera and a Mamiya RZ lens adapter. I already had the Mamiya lenses so it was a no brainer. It did take a bit of time to figure out exactly what other items were needed but essentially You'll need 3 other pieces besides the body. The lens plate. I suggest a medium format lens like the Mamiya RB/RZ lenses. BH# CALPMRBRZB, The camera bayonet holder (Cambo AC-78E) BH# CAOBHDSLR and the camera bayonet plate BH# CABKNF. This is a very flexible system and using the bayonet holder (AC-78E) you can get different plates for about $70 so I could add in a mirrorless body just with a new bayonet plate. I don't know if it's by accident or intentionally but the Actus-G molded packaging fits perfectly inside a Pelican 1300 case - BONUS!
This will also focus to infinity so it works fine for architecture as well as tilting or swinging the focal plane for product photography.

[Black] The Sony A7 rIV is working nicely combined with Mamiya RZ lenses. Much less clumsy than the old Sinar P setup I was using. Now wanting the rear tilt accessory...

[7.655 lb] Works very well with Fuji X mount. The construction is a mixed bag of very cheap plastic knobs, decent bellows material and good quality metal rails. Be very gentle with it and it will last long. i bought two thanks to B&H for their support and vast catalogue.

[Black] I use this Bellows with a 50mmm nikon Manual lens. i fell that it is a great value for the money. Especially with the added diopters package from vivator. i also own a 40mm macro and a 85mm macro. They are good in the field but I still love the bellows for home studio use.

[7.655 lb] A lot of bang for the buck. It will not work with the lenses from DSLR camera systems unless they have an ability that allows you to manually adjust aperture, otherwise with a regular SLR lens, they work well . Best results are with a 45 to 60mm focal length lens, or longer. At about 50mm focal length, you are focusing at about an inch from the lens, as the image reflects. With the bellows retracted a bit, the third image was the result. With a 135mm focal length lens, you are focusing at about 5 to 6 inches with bellows at full extension with a field of view of about 1?? inches to 2 inches. As with all Close up schemas, you lose depth of field, but if you shoot coins, rings/ jewelry, or smale scale models, this is a perfect combination. Once set up, it is pretty much a WYSIWYG with an ISO of 125 or 100. Since the camera is unable to hold the iris open while you are composing, if you stop the lens down after composing, then you can adjust your ISO accordingly to improve depth of field, but you will need to resort to a tripod. The only down side is the measuring scale is that it is glued on rather than etched in the rail. A minor detail unless you require compious complete notes to save time on reproducing results as you are more likely to be advancing or reversing the bellows with the left hand knob rather than analyzing a measuring scale. If the right knob set screw is allowed to drag slightly on the rail, you right hand to operate the camer and the bellows will hold position. If you take this into the field, it is not indestructable, however if the camera and bellows are mounted to a rail and the rail then mounted to a tripod, you should do okay if you are careful and mindful of the physics of levers. Also decent lighting of the subject is essential. Relying on the light you can constantly throw on the stage will give you the most predictable results without undue shadows or nasty surprises.

[7.655 lb] Had an older bellows that we used with our F2 for extreme close-up work but it would not fit our D series camera because the camera hand hold prevented the bellows housing from rotating to engage the mount. This one worked fine and we are again taking very close up macro catalog shots. Just like the older model, this is 100% manual and some lenses just will not work because there in no aperture ring on the lens. Make sure the lens you want to use has a ring for manual use otherwise it will revert to the smallest aperture the lens has available.
