Q: 1. Hello, I would like to add a third monitor to my desktop (Windows 11). I would have to use a USB 2.0 port connecting to the monitor with a HDMI port. Is this doable? It would not be used for videos. Thank you.

A: The j5create USB 3.0 to 4K HDMI Display Adapter is compatible with USB 2.0 though it would impact performance.

Q: 2. Would i be able to use my gh5 as a webcam with this?

A: yes this is an HDMI capture card and will allow you to use your camera as webcam as long the computer app you are using supports it

Q: 3. Hello, can I use this device for live streaming using 2 cameras?

A: No, it only has one hdmi input.

Q: 4. The Audio input is labeled as MIC, What are the input specs? Will it also work with line levels? (consumer 0.35V)?

A: In terms of specifications provided by the manufacture, what is listed from the manual is "The Mic input can also act as a mono line-level input (giving 0dBFS from ~0dBV with the control at ‘0’), and has ~45dB of gain for handing mic-level signals."

Q: 5. Does it support touch input when in use?

A: This product is designed for capturing a video stream from an external video source such as a camcorder via HDMI. It does not affect your ability to use touch screen devices.

Q: 6. Works for record 4K video from my a7s1 output hdmi??

A: The original A7S is able to output UHD 4K at up to 30fps through HDMI. While not specifically tested, the Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4k Plus should be able to see the signal. However this is something that you would need to test out for yourself to see if it works.

Q: 7. Could I use this for 4k going into a mac using quicktime app on computer?

A: Yes you can.

Q: 8. The USB cable included with this device is very short. What type A to type C cables are compatible with this device. Up until now the only cable I can find that will allow the card to be recognized by my 2019 MacBook Pro is the cable that was included with the card. Even though other cards seem to match the required specifications the device does not power on and is not recognized by the computer.

A: I am sorry to say that Magewell advises to please use the included Magewell USB 3.0 cable, which is a custom accessory. Using any other similar cable might cause capture problems and even damage the capture device.

Q: 9. if audio from mic input and color correction is added in computer will it come through loop through hdmi out on device?

A: The loop through does not take in to account anything that is added within the computer. It is just a loop out of the HDMI input.

Q: 10. Apple computers (All) invert/flip or mirror video signals. Because of this when using FaceTime or Skype text appears backwards. This capture card states it supports flip/mirroring... is this feature available when using FaceTime or Skype?

A: According to Magewell the USB Capture Utility V3 allows for Mirror and Flip and they specifically reference Facetime for these functions. They do not reference Skype, but we believe it would work there as well.

[530 mA] I can game on mine, no lag as a 3rd monitor to do surround in World of Tanks (WoT). I have a Lenovo Y510P with 2 GeForce 750m cards, and the laptop has 1 HDMI and 1 VGA port, both go to my Samsung T27B350 TV/Monitors running at 1080p@60. I have a Desktop that I actually run 6 of those Samsung monitors with 2 video cards. Since I choose to rebuild my Desktop, I have been using my laptop in the meanwhile. I wanted to use 3 monitors so I could game with peripheral vision, since World of Tanks supports 120' FOV. While my center and right monitors are handled by the laptop video ports, I was short 1 port to do 3 displays. I initially used a KWorld USB2-2-DVI, and that even worked, but there was noticeable lag. Since I only use about 1/3 of the side monitor, this was possible. If I tried to use the entire screen, this might have been bad, but for my purposes and this game, it was acceptable. Since I saw they released USB3-2-DVI, I figure it could only be faster. they were right, now using 1/3 of my left side monitor, and there is almost no lag, I would have to be looking for it to even notice. It works perfect, so this will work in place of the Matrox TripleHead2Go I was looking at. I will try to see how it handles full screen, but for a partial screen, WoT in 1080p is fine. Hope this helps out someone who is trying to decide if this will work, I think if you wanted to watch full screen videos at 1080p@60 this would handle that no problem at all. David 5

[1x HDMI Female] I tried to use the same company's MiniDisplay port to Dual HDMI adaptor to extend my desktop (MacBook 2016) but it didn't work. It only mirrored the desktop on my two monitors. So I bought one of these for one monitor and used a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI adaptor for the other monitor and it solved my problem. So this is a good device if you want to extend your desktop over two monitors. 5

[1x HDMI Female] I finally set up my new Mac Studio. I needed an adapter for my LED Cinema Display with Mini DisplayPort. The adapter plugged in without a problem. The display fired up when I turned on my computer. I checked the resolution in Systems Preferences and It was operating at 4K resolution. Well worth the price. 5

[80% ()] I got this for my Lenovo think pad so I could use 2 27 inch monitors. Had 2 other HDMI splitters that only allowed duplicate the desktop. This made the Laptop see both monitors and could extend to both of them. 5
