This color backdrop is truly wrinkle-resistant when stretched taut, allowing for a smooth, sweeping, and seamless appearance. The background is suitable for shooting large groups or full-body portraits in the studio and on location at weddings and events.

Wrinkle-resistant backdrops are easy to use, machine washable, and reflection-free. They're made of 100% polyester and can be easily folded for transporting to your next location. The included fabric bag matches the backdrop color for easy identification.

The background includes a pole pocket for mounting with a separately available Westcott Backdrop Support System and built-in metal grommets for wall mounting.

The solid color backdrop is easy to light and gel to yield appearances such as high-key lighting with vibrant patterns, or low-key lighting that mutes the background for a softer, barely-there effect.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a Lobar Pattern microphone?

A: The pickup pattern of the Rode NTG8 Moisture-Resistant Long Shotgun Microphone is categorized as supercardioid as opposed to Lobar. Lobar can often be used interchangeably with supercardioid as well as hypercardioid and is not commonly used by manufacturers to describe the pickup patterns of their shotgun microphones.

Q: 2. What Blimp will work with shorter NTG5?

A: The Rode blimp. B&H # ROBLIMPR is the part number you can find it on the B&H website.

Q: 3. This question is directed to B&H staff - you must have heard about the RF interference problem with this mic? There is a YT video about it. I want to purchase but am wondering if Rode has solved the problem or it's just a small number of mics? No one has stated if it's a part problem/xlr cable problem/shielding problem, etc. Anyone know the details?

A: We have not heard of any customers experiencing problems with RF when using the NTG5. We reached out to Rode as well for more information and to find out whether they were aware of any issues with the NTG5 regarding RF or if they had seen the video you mentioned, which none of us were able to find. Rode has not had any reported problems with the NTG5 and if you have in fact purchased the NTG5 and are experiencing problems with RF, they do want to know about it and would like for you to contact them directly for assistance. Or the mic was purchased from B&H, please do let us know about it. It is certainly possible that a bad cable or a damaged input or circuitry on a camera, recorder or mixer can be the source of RF problems, but there should not be any issues that are created by the mic itself.

Q: 4. How this as a camera mounted mic on a Sony Fx9 for run and gun doc work.

A: Remove the included pistol grip shock mount and use the camera's microphone holder.

Q: 5. Is this true chroma key green?

A: Yes, the Angler Wrinkle-Resistant Fleece Background (Chroma Green, 9 x 10') is a solid Chroma Key Green color that will make it easy to select your subject matter in post-production software.

Q: 6. Is the Angler 9'x10' Chroma-Green the same "lighter" (less saturated) tone of Green as the Angler 9'x20' Chroma-Green I have?

A: No, the Angler Wrinkle-Resistant Fleece Background (9 x 10', Chroma Green) is the same green as the 9x20 version.

Q: 7. What's the difference between the NTG8 & the NTG3?

A: I have both microphones. My understanding is they have the same capsule. I use them outside with the Rycote Blimp system. The NTG8 picks up less wind sound( not distorted ) since it has a narrow pick up pattern as compared to the NTG3. There is more surface area with the NTG8 so the wind wants to move it physically. If you want to pick up a wider pickup pattern the NTG3 would do that. Both good microphones.

Q: 8. Is there a loop on the long side of the backdrop, or only on the short side?

A: There is only a loop on the short side of the Angler Wrinkle-Resistant Fleece Background.

Q: 9. Could this be attached to a camera or camcorder?

A: Rode SM4-R Suspension Shockmount BH #ROSM4R: https://bhpho.to/2Uj4Ri6 or WindTech Hot-Shoe Shotgun Microphone Clip CM-21 B&H # WICM21

Q: 10. Is the WS-10 a deadcat?

A: The WS10 is the Furry Windscreen. Made for the Rode NTG 5.

[Solid Orange] Been thru the budget ones, it isn't about the wrinkles - it is much more about the fabric shine on green-screen fabrics. Wescott nailed it and the bounce-back shine that gives strange results with body outlines and white hair is gone. It's worth it and it is pro level compared to those that think price is everything.

The material is like a blanket or a felt and it reduces that sheen of most fabrics down to nothing. The wrinkles are there like most fabrics but reduce on their own where they are keyed out within hours.

The only way you could do better is to find actual felt fabric where is little to no bounce-back of light. I've looked, this is the real solution to getting the right tool to do green and/or blue screening. I bought them both.

[1] This is my second Westcott chromakey backdrop. I use these for youth sports photography. This is a production operation with as many as 100 portraits at a time, and we have to have a background that not only delivers consistant, clean color but also can withstand being transported and set up daily. Westcott delivers on both counts. It's heavy enough that it will block out lights (and even an open door to daylight) from behind, and sturdy enough to keep up with daily wear and tear. My only complaint is that at 9'x10', it's a little small for the larger kids (especially HS basketball players). My other backdrops are 10'x12', and that extra foot or two makes a difference.Overall though, this backdrop is well worth the money.

[3.54 lb] The problem with Green and Blue screens is usually not wrinkles at all. It is shine and light spill from the screen fabric to your product or persons. The material on this is more light absorbing and light deadening pretty much eliminating the lighting feedback or spill completely.

A lot of people think that putting more and more light on the screen solves the problems when in reality it compounds the problem. With the Wescott you only need a kiss of light to do the job and to do the job well. The material they use is much closer to a felt rather than a bargain cloth which usually has a built in sheen to it. And that sheen becomes your problem. The Wescott is more like a microfiber cloth that deadens the light that bounces back.

The bigger surprise is you can take it right out of the included travel bag all crumpled up, put it in the drier at lowest heat setting for 10 minutes and the wrinkles are 90 percent GONE!! Unless you are using this and throwing them away, I would recommend this far and above over the other screens made with plain fabrics. Thumbs up!

[1] Heavy duty screen fabric. Some initial packaging wrinkles, but they fell
out easily. Great product for the money and miles above the cheaper
options.

[1x Bag] The color is not as vibrant or saturated as my other green screen options. However, there is less reflected light or spill around the edges of the foreground objects.

[Polyester] I purchased this background in white several years ago and just purchased gray. Like other Westcott products that I own, these are well made. The quality of fabric is nice and I find that the backdrop really is wrinkle resistant when pulled taut and clamped. I usually use a little Downy Wrinkle release spray too, once the backdrop has been hung, which helps illuminate any small wrinkles. I've washed my white backdrop several times and it washes up well. The gray is lighter than pictured but not dramatically. I would call it medium gray.

[Solid Orange] I was really happy to find this. Perfect size for hanging on a cross bar. Started using it before I even washed it, I expect to like it even more minus the slight wrinkles from being packed and shipped.

[Yes] I usually take a 103" paper roll on location for groups. What a pain, it requires two trips from the car, and I ruined one roll. I have been using the Wescott X-drop for headshots and like that fabric so when I saw that you can get a large backdrop in the same fabric I bought it. Used it on a recent shoot. With stretch clamps it was wrinkle free using my backdrop stand. Images came out great. Now I wonder if I could use two xdrop backdrop stands I can condense my on location kit even further?!

[Yes] I already had Wescott frames for green screening. I purchased the blue for my collection. Assembly is quick, the quality is very good.
