This color backdrop is truly wrinkle-resistant when stretched taut, allowing for a smooth, sweeping, and seamless appearance. The background is suitable for shooting large groups or full-body portraits in the studio and on location at weddings and events.

Wrinkle-resistant backdrops are easy to use, machine washable, and reflection-free. They're made of 100% polyester and can be easily folded for transporting to your next location. The included fabric bag matches the backdrop color for easy identification.

The background includes a pole pocket for mounting with a separately available Westcott Backdrop Support System and built-in metal grommets for wall mounting.

The solid color backdrop is easy to light and gel to yield appearances such as high-key lighting with vibrant patterns, or low-key lighting that mutes the background for a softer, barely-there effect.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. It doesn't actually say its parabolic, its it average and not so shallow umbrella, but it is not a deep parabolic, correct? I am comparing it to Godox deep parabolic umbrella, and Godox is winning!

A: A parabola is just a U-shape, and you can see the U shape from the side of this umbrella. It is not a deep parabolic umbrella, however.

Q: 2. Does it fit to a Broncolor Siros L?

A: Yes, the siros L feature a integrated umbrella shaft holder.

Q: 3. Does this fit into a regular umbrella holder or need special adapter?

A: It fits. But it's a very heavy umbrella and I wouldn't recommend using in a generic speedlight flash bracket. I just can't see the locking mechanism holding for many uses before breaking. And I certainly wouldn't use it outside without an assistant holding it. I use it indoors only in the umbrella holder on an AB1600 alienbees and the shaft of the umbrella actually bows toward the floor. It's size makes it slightly awkward but the light it gives is phenomenally soft! It's the best $100 piece of equipment I've bought.

Q: 4. What is the shaft diameter for the umbrella ?

A: The Westcott 43" White Umbrella, Collapsible, B&H # WEU43SBC, has an 8 mm standard shaft which will fit virtually all heads except Elinchrom which requires a 7 mm shaft.

Q: 5. I would like to know whether profoto b1 support this? Thank you.

A: If you are asking whether the shaft fits thru the B1 hole, then yes it fits. The only problem is the light is spotted on the B1 because of the recessed flash tube. I would recommend getting the external glass dome attachment on the B1 in order to spread the light better and utilize such a big umbrella better.

Q: 6. For the photographers that use this on large group shots. Do you feel one light/umbrella is enough for groups up to 30-40 people?

A: I used it for groups of 8 of less worked great. Used one speedlight and from the left side of group. Mite work for rows of 15 using it in the center. For larger groups I would try using it in the center moved back with 3 speedlight braket (Lastolite TriFlash Bracket by Joe McNally B&H). or 2 umbrella's one on either side.

Q: 7. how big is the pocket sleeve?

A: Big enough to fit a standard stand pole through

Q: 8. How well does this work with a single speedlight?

A: A single speedlight will fill most of the umbrella as long as the zoom on the speedlight is set wide (24mm is sufficient) and the speedlight is about 8-12 inches from the end of the umbrella shaft.

Q: 9. Would this be suitable for couples head shots or singles only?

A: According to Westcott, the Eyelighter 3 is large enough for shooting portraits of 2 people.

Q: 10. Is the Angler 9'x10' Chroma-Green the same "lighter" (less saturated) tone of Green as the Angler 9'x20' Chroma-Green I have?

A: No, the Angler Wrinkle-Resistant Fleece Background (9 x 10', Chroma Green) is the same green as the 9x20 version.

[1] I usually take a 103" paper roll on location for groups. What a pain, it requires two trips from the car, and I ruined one roll. I have been using the Wescott X-drop for headshots and like that fabric so when I saw that you can get a large backdrop in the same fabric I bought it. Used it on a recent shoot. With stretch clamps it was wrinkle free using my backdrop stand. Images came out great. Now I wonder if I could use two xdrop backdrop stands I can condense my on location kit even further?!

[Solid White] I was really happy to find this. Perfect size for hanging on a cross bar. Started using it before I even washed it, I expect to like it even more minus the slight wrinkles from being packed and shipped.

[Polyester] Worked well and really helped me get a clean black backdrop. When I first hung it, there were obvious creases and folds from it being packaged, but with a fabric steamer I was quickly able to get a smooth backdrop.

[Solid White] Photography back drop. I love the almost wrinkle free aspect. Sometimes you have to stretch them a bit. But they are infinitely easier to use than muslin backdrops, and I know what I speak of since I have seventeen of the muslin backdrops. Just remember to shot against the fuzzy side of the backdrop.

[1x Bag] This backdrop is fantastic. You can pull it out of the bag and it is ready to use. No steaming or other prep necessary. Highly recommend.

[Yes] This is a good white background. It works well for shooting talking heads. It's plenty long enough and just wide enough. It has a solid pocket for the rod, hangs well and gives you a nice rounded cyc curve. It came in a sealed plastic bag, inside a cloth, drawstring bag. Yet, when we opened it, there were big patches of dirt in several spots, like someone has dragged it on a dirty floor before packing it, and it was highly wrinkled. We have washed it, re-hung it and steamed out the wrinkles and it works fine. Just be aware that you may have to at least do the steaming before you can use it out of the box (bag).

[1x Bag] Westcott makes great backdrops! Only thing that would make it better is if there was a pole pocket on the 10' edge, and not just on the 9' edge.

[1] In my studio I have always shot with a gray background. For some reason I shied away from any other color. Not anymore. The white background is more versatile. Depending upon how I light it, It can go from dark gray to pure white. Thank goodness it's washable. I love it.

[Yes] I purchased this background in white several years ago and just purchased gray. Like other Westcott products that I own, these are well made. The quality of fabric is nice and I find that the backdrop really is wrinkle resistant when pulled taut and clamped. I usually use a little Downy Wrinkle release spray too, once the backdrop has been hung, which helps illuminate any small wrinkles. I've washed my white backdrop several times and it washes up well. The gray is lighter than pictured but not dramatically. I would call it medium gray.
