The Additive Oscillator is inspired by classic '70s-era West Coast synthesis, and lets users combine the first eight partials in the harmonic series to create complex composite tones. Its extensive modulation capabilities allow sounds ranging from beautiful, flowing audio tapestries to bleepy computer music.

The ESP-20 Processor recreates the slightly bizarre and endlessly useful external signal processor section of the classic MS-20 synthesizer. The frequency-to-voltage converter analyzes incoming audio and generates matching voltages for controlling oscillator pitch and envelope amplitude. This lets you play the Voltage Modular by singing, playing guitar, or any other monophonic signal source. The ESP-20's frequency converter has a much wider range than the original for increased functionality, while still retaining the quirkiness of the original.

The Hex Phaser is a powerful and flexible stereo phaser. Unlike other phasers, the number of active stages and the stage at which feedback is introduced is easily configurable for a huge palette of phasing colors. Rate, depth, bandwidth, and feedback amount can all be fully modulated. The unique Stereo Offset control alters the phase relationship between the left and right channel LFOs for massive stereo phasing effects.

Lyrinx Filter precisely replicates the unique voltage-controlled formant filter of the super-rare Synton Syrinx synthesizer. Consisting of two band-pass and one low-pass filter with multiple routing configurations, it excels at creating unique vocal-like timbres and includes extensive CV capabilities. This lets you easily create funky talking synth sounds. Lyrinx is super easy to use and capable of a very wide array of timbres.

MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) is a method of using MIDI which enables multidimensional expression. Each note has its own pitch bend, pressure sensitivity, and slide or timbre. Connect poly cables out to various modules in your setup for the ultimate in expression with MIDI. Control up to 15 notes per module. (The first channel in MPE is the global channel and is used for global pitch bend, etc.)

Featuring the VCO-20 Dual Oscillator, Poly VCO-20 Dual Oscillator, VCF-20 Filter, Poly VCF-20 Filter, EG-20, Poly EG-20, and ESP-20 Processor, Cherry Audio's MS Vintage Bundle mkII recreates the legendary raunchy, screaming character of one the most famous Japanese synths of the '70s with stunning accuracy. Poly VCO-20 Dual Oscillator and Poly VCF-20 Filter bring these uniquely aggressive tones to polyphonic synthesis. The idiosyncratic external signal processor section is also replicated, offering endless creative options.

Mega Saw delivers the immense hoover sound of multiple detuned sawtooth waves. Up to 32 simultaneously saws can sound with CV-controllable detune amount.

Octagon is a powerhouse sequencer that allows superfast and easy creation of rhythmically elaborate patterns and melodies. Sequences can be up to 32 steps, and each step contains up to 8 gate pulses with numerous modes for extended note values, legato play, repeats, or user-defined patterns within each sequence step. Each step includes ratcheting, skip, and slide controls.

Octagon's unique slide implementation allows traditional-style synth portamento or 303-style constant rate slide. Up to 32 steps can be enabled and viewed via Octagon's bank and step-shift controls. Octagon also offers numerous step play order modes including an innovative CV control mode for playing steps via a keyboard controller or another sequencer. A complete array of CV inputs allow real-time voltage control of tempo, note gate time, sequence length, transport controls, and more.

A Turing-machine-style CV module for generating semirandom voltages, with CV control of probability, note shuffling, and pattern step length.

Allows CV control of up to eight controls of any module via an easy-to-use click-to-assign visual interface. This is especially useful for controls that do not have any CV option.

Sampler II is a unique, retro-inspired digital sampler module, designed with creativity at the fore. It features full sample editing, user sampling, variable sample rate and bit depth, and extensive real-time CV modulation.

Classic 16-step sequencer with built-in CV pitch quantization, adjustable gate time, definable pattern length, external clocking and reset, and more.

Delay with stereo in and out, CV control of time, feedback, and mix, and a spread control for adding stereo width to inputs.

TB Oscillator is a superaccurate modular recreation of the oscillator section of the world's most iconic acid techno bass synth. The TB Oscillator's Wave Mix control adds new tone colors.

TB Filter is a superaccurate modular recreation of the filter section of the world's most iconic acid techno bass synth. The TB Filter's saturation knob creates subtle to nasty overdrive.

Vintage Resonator closely models the resonator section of the classic Moog Polymoog synthesizer. Originally described as something of a parametric EQ on steroids, the resonator section consists of three state-variable filters in a parallel configuration, each operating in a chunk of the frequency spectrum (low/mid/high). The filters are globally switchable to operate in high-pass, bandpass, or low-pass mode, and they're fantastic at imparting an organic feel to lifeless patches. Cherry Audio has enhanced the original version with the addition of a 12/24 dB slope selector, as well as bipolar CV inputs for each filter's cutoff frequency—for killer animated phasing-type sounds.

A fantastic sounding 11-band vocoder with adjustable band volume, individual band outputs, global bandwidth and decay controls, and sibilance trim.

A four-channel mixer for audio and control signals featuring solo and mute, individual stereo outs, and full voltage control of level and pan for all channels.

Over 50 professional presets for the Year One Collection presets.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This unit runs on a battery. My question is, if the battery fails in the middle of a shoot, will it make it impossible to fire the flash from an older power pack? Or will it still fire with potential damage to the camera?

A: According to Vello, they state that if the battery dies, the HSA-PVU Hot Shoe Adapter would still provide voltage protection for your camera. However, the PC sync terminal may lose the ability to trigger the flash or power pack connected to the adapter, depending on the voltage needed to trigger the unit. So the short answer is if the battery dies, your camera remains protected, but the flash connected to the adapter may not fire.

Q: 2. Two products that I have recently purchased from BH, first, Wein SSH Safe-sync, second, Vello HSA_PVU Hot Shoe Adapter, have both failed to fire the flash which is a Norman studio power pack connected via PC sync cord. I am connecting to a Nikon D3300 via the hot shoe on the camera. The camera hot shoe works to fire a portable flash connected directly, so I don't think there is a problem with the camera's hot shoe or maybe this camera cannot handle external flash connections? Nikon says that it can. What to do? Would a radio powered transmitter/transceiver work? Is this a camera problem? Thanks.

A: Unfortunately, we do not have enough information to assist you via this forum. The best I can state is if the camera's hot shoe is working properly, I would recommend trying the adapters with a different flash to see if the adapters fire with a different flash. If so, the issue may be the sync terminal of your power pack or the PC sync cable you are using. At this point, you have only eliminated the hot shoe as properly working, but have not identified if the adapter, sync cable, or sync terminal on your pack is the issue. All other variables have to be eliminated to find the issue. The above test would verify if the adapters are working. Switching a PC cable with a known working flash would indicate if the PC sync cable you are using is working. If the adapters and PC cables are all working with other items, then the issue may be the sync terminal on your power pack, which would need to be sent to Norman or a repair center for inspection/repair. If it is your sync terminal, then purchasing a wireless radio remote system would not work as they still utilize the power pack's sync terminal to connect the radio receiver/transceiver to the power pack. I would recommend to use the items you currently have to confirm or eliminate the issue. As you state the hot shoe on the camera is working, it does not seem to be a camera issue.

Q: 3. would this work with a fujifilm xh2s?

A: Yes, The Fuji XH2S is listed on the Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal compatibility list. Compatibility chart of tested cameras - https://bit.ly/3XlVH37

Q: 4. I am going to use this hot shoe adapter to connect the Samsung NX10 and Godox AD100 Pro with a PC Sync cable. Will it work?

A: While it is possible to use the Vello HSA-PVU Hot Shoe Adapter with Safe Voltage Conversion to connect a Samsung NX10 and a Godox AD100 Pro using a sync cable, it has not been tested to our knowledge. Your results may vary.

Q: 5. Can I put this on a Fuji XT-2 and partner it with a Canon 600EX-RT?

A: You won't need a voltage converter for this flash. That is typically used for much older flashes and strobes from the film era.

Q: 6. I just received and it went from 119 to 121,is that normal? then back to 119 and stayed there

A: Yes electricity fluctuates this is normal for Furman to read out like that.

Q: 7. Can the follow focus also be used to control the zoom on a zoom lens?

A: Yes, the SmallRig F60 Modular Follow Focus can be used to adjust the focus, zoom, and the aperture of a lens.

Q: 8. Is this product CSA or c-UL approved?

A: Furman lists this unit as cTUVus certified. For additional information please contact Furman directly at 877-486-4738 or info@a href= http://furmansound.com target= _blank furmansound.com/a

Q: 9. Does this work with newer sony cameras with Sony MI? (A7s, A7r, A7rII, etc?)

A: The manufacturer does not recommend using this on the Sony MI shoe. Even though the Sony MI shoe looks similar to a standard shoe, the hot shoe pin of this adapter may very well not line up. It is always recommended to buy devices specifically made for the Sony MIS.

Q: 10. This unit runs on a battery. My question is, if the battery fails in the middle of a shoot, is the voltage protection disabled or will it allow high voltage from an older flash power pack to go to the camera?

A: Don't know. It doesn't work at all on my Olympus or Nikon cameras. Total waste of money for me.

[8 GB] It’s not an eight-voice polysynth with presets. But it truly is a system dedicated to exploring how analog modules can interact, and the sequencer is powerful. It’s a very good first Eurorack system, but also a very natural central unit for controlling and interacting with other modular gear. You can absolutely make interesting bass lines and melodies with this thing in the first few hours but my guess is I’ll be fiddling with it for years. I’m a fan. It’s what you make of it, but you can make a lot.

[Yes] I bought Moog because I wanted to make sure I had a lifetime of sonic possibilities to explore. I stopped using hardware synths in 2005 and wanted to get back into them. I had only ever owned semi-modular synths like a Juno 106 (original, I’ve been into electronic music since I was 15 – 50 now), various things I never really loved that much, an Access Virus Classic, and a VSynth. One of my favorite plug-ins since I went completely on the box is the Arturia Moog Modular and I knew, whatever I got it, it would be a Moog.

I don't have as much space as I used to. I could comfortably fit a Moog Subsequent 25 (20”) or Subsequent 37 (26.5”) but was worried it might feel too big for the space. I decided I wanted to have the flexibility to integrate the best and most creative components I could find around the Moog so I chose this bundle. I also ordered a Subharmonicon that was so awesome in the mix bit it had a defect and had to go back. I can’t wait for them to be available again.

[Standard] I preordered the VL2 based purely on my enjoyment of Pittsburgh's previous Taiga synth. The VL2 is a completely blank slate for you to dive in, experiment and tweak/build to your hearts desire. The new waveform/folding options are deep and the sequencer on this system is amazing. Create anything from polyrhythms and percussives to full on melodic arrangements, all complete with chance/scanning/scrubbing/fills/slides etc. The middle blue row (shared by both sequencers) is a terrific idea that opens up your modulation options in really fun ways that you may not fully realize until you get your hands on the system. Florist chorus/reverb and a longer delay (than the Taiga) are welcome effect additions to add flavor to any arrangement. I LOVE this synth. It's big, it's easy to touch and play and it sounds amazing. They nailed it once again.

[8 GB] Excellent product, quality is second to none! The only drawback is the height of the shelvings are on the small side. I have an Onkyo 806 and it wont fit. I had to put it on the top shelf and it looks great. Cable management system works great.

[Standard] Uses foam on the insides on the left and right, which I wasn't expecting - not like the other Decksavers I've purchased. Not sure if I like that feature, I hope it's solid quality foam and doesn't leave any residue. Does NOT fit if you've got your Moog in the official Moog rack kit. Will technically let you fit your wires underneath it but they will bend quite a bit if they've any height; I unplug my wires before putting the Decksaver back on.
