A: This is just the stand - it does not come with a microphone clip. The part that actually holds the microphone is called a clip, and should come with the mic (guaranteeing that it will fit). Mic clips can be purchased for your specific mic.

Q: 5. is this stand strong enough to hold Profoto D2?

A: If I was looking at the same light as you have it is only 7.5lb the stand will be able to handle double that weight.

Q: 6. Does the vertical tilt lock down well when there is a heavy load on the head? The system we will be mounting will be 50+ lbs, and will need to sometimes be locked at an angle.

A: Yes, it locks very well. Two things...there is a locking pin that has to be pulled out and reinserted to lock the head AND the plate under the ball has to be reversed so the flat not curved side is against the ball. We use the Kessler Pocket Jib with a C300 and 45 lbs counterweight without issue.

Q: 7. I'm going to be using this for a DSLR camera mount for overhead photography. Does anyone have any recomendations for the best piece to use for mounting the camera to the arm?

A: There are several solutions that are available but it depends on budget and features needed. If you want to have the ability to adjust the pan and tilt of the Camera you will have to mount an adjustable head on the 5/8 stud on the C Stand. You can do this with something as simple as a double mafer clamp and a 3/8 rod screwed into the bottom of the head.
