Constructed from a sturdy aluminum base and chassis, utilizing a low-friction loading tray, the build of the 7000CDT works to significantly reduce the mechanical vibration caused by a high-spin-velocity motor. To further reduce noise, the cd transport is mounted in its own electromagnetically shielded enclosure with a dedicated power supply, isolating it from possible EMI from other components, such as the display. These features ensure the purest signal quality is being passed to your DAC without added noise or distortion from the transport itself.

The 7000CDT uses a high-precision optical system with an electronic data buffer for accurate and seamless CD playback. Very similar in technology to the 9000CDT, the 7000CDT uses a read-ahead digital buffer to reduce disc-reading failures, helping it play scratched and damaged CDs that may be unreadable by conventional mechanisms.

To ensure a flawless signal reaches the accompanying DAC, the coaxial output of the 7000CDT is fed from a differential line driver. The master clock is controlled by a high-accuracy crystal oscillator, enabling the digital output from both coaxial and optical sockets to exhibit vanishingly low levels of jitter (digital distortion).

In addition to the class-leading CD playback design, the 7000CDT also offers digital music playback via a dedicated USB-A connection located on the rear of the unit. Several hi-res and lossless audio formats are supported, including WAV, AAC, and WMA, as well as compressed legacy MP3 formats.

Taking influence from the Audiolab flagship 9000CDT, the 7000CDT improves over the 6000CDT with a full-color 2.8" diagonal IPS display featuring a detailed but simple-to-use GUI. This display offers a vivid representation of information, including system settings, format, folder, tack details, and more.

A: The 22" dimension would be the wide from front to back of a open case if the length of the 42" was going side to side. 15" is the depth counting both halves of the case.

A: The foam we received was scored in 1 x1 cubes that could be easily detached to form a snug fit for our contents.

A: This model has Pull n' Pluck Foam in it.

Q: 10. Would I be able to fit a Celestron 1100 Edge HD OTA in this?

A: I was able to get an alienware aurora 4 into the case with plenty of extra cushioning.

[16.275 lb] This is just what I was looking for. This is not a CD player It is a CD transport It is as good as the DAC you run it through The sound is clear, detailed and dynamic and any color to the digital recording comes from your DAC. I am extremely happy with this player. I have only had it a few weeks so no review on long term reliability. It seems extremely well made and I like the slot disc input rather than a tray. I think it is a great value. 5

[16.275 lb] It was difficult to give the Audiolab 6000CDT five stars. I guess I had the impression that a CD Transport along with the DAC in the 6000A would make everything sound better! It doesn't. So far, I would say about one in 7 CD's really shine while the others range from ok to quirky. Just saying welcome to audiophile land & be prepared for a few surprises. 5

[1x USB-A] I listened to CD music for decades on what I thought were good players, but buying this transport and plugging it into my DAC has changed my view completely. CDs (before the advent of digital music files) were always a nice portable medium with good sound quality. It was nice to get rid of the handling and storage issues of LPs, but deep down, LPs still sounded better. Now, with the Audiolab transport, I can enjoy listening to CD music as much as I have ever enjoyed listening to LPs. All of the music is there! It was getting lost in the 0s and 1s, somewhere, but this transport has magically found them. I will never look back, and never think of CD music the same. This is a quality piece of equipment available at a price comparable to much inferior equipment. Buy it! 5

[16.275 lb] Works great with my Chord 2Qute DAC, Dayens Ecstacy III amplifier, and Triangle Esprit Comete EZ speakers. A very nice boost in overall performance! Bass is much better / tighter with a greater sense of pace. Interesting and improved presentation for Redbook CD's in a very good way! I am very pleased with the purchase, and BHP is the bomb for customer service and fast shipping coast to coast! Recommended product and dealer! 5

[1] With hundreds of CDs, i wanted to upgrade my CD playback source. This transport has been an excellent addition to my system. Visually it looks very modern, and the build is solid. Playback sound quality is also determined by the outboard DAC used, but this transport has improved my listening enjoyment. Highs are very smooth, and the soundstage is excellent. If you’re looking to leverage the enjoyment of your CD collection, this transport is a great value. 5

[2] This Transport is Shockingly Good. I honestly wish I had gone with my 30yrs of Hi End Audio Instincts & tried this before getting another Transport first. Giving it a 5 out 5 rating is an extremely conservative rating, In all Honesty I'd have to give this Component another 3 stars right out of the box. 5

[1x USB-A] VERY VERY impressed. I can’t say I’ve tried to compare with another CDT, but this is very smooth, silent, refined and detailed. I love the Matt black finish, sits swell next to my record player base which is also of the same finish. I threw in a CD that is in terrible shape and is known to skip (very mildly on another player) and the Audiolab seemed to not even notice! Only niggle is with the finish being a magnet for fingerprint and needs a wipe around, especially above frequently used controls. 5

[1x USB-A] I am in the process of adding my 15K CD collection to my music server, I wanted something to carry me through. This transport sounds n ds amazing. Way out performs my $1500 Marantz. Playing through a $8000 DAC and the Audiolab fits right in. Highly recommended. 5
