Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this camera take still and video at the same time?

A: The Bushnell Core DS-4K No-Glow Trail Camera (Camo) BH #BU119987C • MFR #119987C cannot take still and video simultaneously.

Q: 2. What is the minimum focus distance for this trail cam?

A: Sorry but Bushnell dose not list that information on there website or in the manual. With my experiencer with trail cameras I will estimate to be 8-10 feet

Q: 3. Is it possible to remove date stamp from photo/video?

A: Page 18 in the manual. In the camera menu select TIME STAMP Choose ON or OFF

Q: 4. What is the expected battery life using regular alkaline batteries?

A: Probably around 2-3 hours of recording time. It really depends.

Q: 5. The night pictures are poor. The image data says it used a 1 second exposure. The ISO setting was 50, which is fine for a sunny day at the beach, but not at night. am I missing a setting to raise the ISO?

A: Page 32 &33 of the manual: 1. Night photos or videos appear too dark a. Check the battery indicator icon to see if battery power is full. The flash will stop operating near the end of the battery life. b. You will get the best results when the subject is within the ideal flash range, no farther than 100 ft/30m. Subjects may appear too dark at greater distances. c. Please note that when the Capture Number parameter is set higher than "1 Photo", or with very short Interval settings, some images may appear darker than others due to the quick response and rapid retriggering of the camera, allowing less time for the flash to fully recharge before firing again. d. Make sure "LED Control" in the setup menu is set to "High" to ensure maximum output. You can also try setting "NV Shutter" in the menu to "Low" (slower shutter speed=brighter images, with tradeoff of increased blur if subject moves rapidly). e. The ARD (anti-reflective device) shield can be removed to maximize flash output. See page 28 for more details. I saw no reference in the manual in selecting ISO

A: The instructions for the Bushnell Trophy Cam HD Trail Camera can be found at this link: https://bhpho.to/46T2Lt6

Q: 7. Is the date/time stamp optional or is it imprinted on every photo?

A: Yes it is a feature that you can turn on or off.

Q: 8. Can you use rechargeable NiMh AA batteries instead of AA alkaline with this trail camera?

A: Bushnell says:-We do not recommend using rechargeable batteries as they have less capacity and lower voltage. Rechargeable batteries will not operate your trail camera reliably or at its full potential"

Q: 9. What format does it record videos in? H.264?

A: TheBushnell Core DS-4K No-Glow Trail Camera offers 1280x720 pixels, Full HD 1920x1080 pixels or up to a 4K resolution 3840x2160 pixels.video options.-The highest resolution 4k- 3840 x 2160, is known as Ultra HD or UHD resolution, not H 264.

Q: 10. Seems issue with video length, by default it takes 10 seconds video, Any solution ?

A: This is a known fault with the 24 MP Bushnell Trophy HD Aggressor even with the best brand fully charged batteries.Waiting on a firmware update to correct.

[Gray] I bought this one to replace my old Moultrie (which had decided to kill batteries after a couple of years). This Bushnell Core S-4K does its job, uses less batteries (6 instead of 8), is sufficiently sharp for these types of cameras, and seems to capture well both during the day and at night. I would not be able to judge about possible misses, but so far I am quite satisfied. I hope it keeps going as it works now.

[Steel] The Bushnell Core DS-4K No-Glow trail camera captures high resolution images, especially with the daytime camera. Some reviews say that the screen size is small, which is true. However, if one reads the owner's manual first, one can make many of the settings at home before going out into the field. In the field the screen is fine for making minor changes. The unit has functioned well in temperatures well below freezing and I haven't needed to change the batteries yet. The unit feels well made.

[Steel] I have been using trail cameras for about 20 years going back to 35mm trail cameras I used to import from the USA to my home in Canada. Gota say the 35mm pictures were amazing and I still have many pictures blown up to poster size on my walls at home. But, the best modern trail cameras are Bushnell & some higher end Primos in my view. I have purchased about 15 digital trail cameras over the years and am an avid Youtuber and wildlife researcher. Bushnell has good picture/video quality, long lasting and rugged and no silly firmware updates like other companies. Caution, never purchase any camera that requires computer plug in firmware updates. Peace & love.

[Gray] This is my 3rd of this model. The camera has a very long battery life when using photo only mode and the pictures are of great quality. Night photos can be very good when you get the best setting for your setup. Programming is very easy. Deer seem to notice the camer less than lo-glow cameras, but I still get some deer investigating the camera.

[2.295 lb] I bought this for property security. And I am not an authority on trail cameras. I will say this camera has a lot of features which I was looking for in a non cellular security camera. The menu is versatile and it is easy to navigate.

[Gray] I have several of these cameras, and unlike Browning cameras, I have had few problems. Bushnell has good customer service. I recommend these cameras for great videos .

[Steel] So far the camera has met my expectations. Trigger and recovery speed are fast, night time pictures seem better than my other "no glow" cameras. Current setup is located on the top of a wooded ridge line, so i'm not sure on night time range. For the price I think it is hard to beat. Only thing left to convince me about this camera is longevity. Bushnell, I would recommend allowing future reviews to post pictures because some of mine so far are amazing quality. Hope this helps someone.
