These ultra compact stands are just great! I carry 2 of these stands with me all day during 15-20 hour Indian weddings. I mount a speed light to each stand and occasionally an umbrella. They do wobble, but I know they aren't going anywhere. I previously used very similar Calumet brand stands, but they started to fail after a couple years of hard use. I have also tried the Manfrotto counterpart. However, Westcott's version is just as sturdy, but also taller than the competition. As a bonus, the legs are removable to form a monopole. I'm not sure why this isn't advertised. It's a nice function that works securely. Buy these if you need ultra portable or travel stands that don't need to support much more weight than speedlights.

I purchased this light stand to travel with me. I needed something lightweight and compact. This fills the bill. For a lightweight stand, I don't know how this could be any better, for the price. It travels in a very compact state, sets up easily, and holds a speedlight with a 26 softbox.

I have a lot of aluminum stands laying around and what i hate the most is that they all have these flimsy plastic components that wear down over time. This model from westcott feels and looks great. Everything is metal and the telescoping pole is also narrower than most other brands.

These are for light weight speakers when I have a smaller DJ gig. Complete with a quality case they get the job done without the extra weight or bulk when you don't need the weight capacity or height of standard speaker stands. I honestly haven't had them long enough to know whether the plastic hardware will hold up, so I will reserve comment on that.

Originally I got this as an on-the-go light stand to take with me for indoor events but now I have found a couple uses for it.� For events, it's great. It folds down enough to fit diagonally in my 1500 Pelican along with my DigiBee, Vagabond and a small softbox. Or I can throw it in the stretchy front pocket of my Think Tank Airport International camera bag. In the studio, I have been able to use it dropped to the ground as a background light stand to place between my subject and the background.

These easy-to-transport (9 pounds total) yet sturdy stands are perfect for a gig in a small to medium-size venue. Our group of around 20 performers will put our PA speakers (12 lbs. each; each stand can hold up to 60 lbs.) on the stands at the rear of the group so that the group can hear the leaders, who are mic'd. The carrying bag appears durable and well-made.

Perfect stand for travel local or for distance. it fits right in my suitcase perfectly. No good for heavy soft box without a sand bag but a great stand.

These light stands are remarkably lightweight and pretty well-made. I've been using them with Westcott LED mats and their Solix lights, and really can't complain. The base is wide enough to support the stand even with substantial off-center loads, and 7 ft is nothing to sneeze at.

This folds up super small to fit into a carry on and yet is sturdy and fully capable. You could easily fit a dozen of these in a carryon. I have a couple, and Im about to get a couple more. A must for anyone who travels with equipment. Save yourself the space and broken back caused by unnecessarily bulky stands and pick up a couple of these.

Makes a very good piece of furniture. Easy to assemble and very solid, no wobble. Turntable fits perfectly and the unit is easily leveled with the adjustable feet.
