Q: 7. Can I mount a tripod head on top of this?

A: Im sure it can be done with the right grip gear, but i wouldnt do it myself... no idea what you are trying to accomplish but i think a small camera stand would be the way to go, something heavier and with an arm to make handling the camera a lot easier. [3] I bought this to hold my 4x6 Profoto Softbox and its amazing. The brakes are easy to use and they hold. Not only that, but it helps so much if you are running a studio by yourself and need to constantly raise and lower and super huge light. My one complaint is that I have found, if I'm not paying attention, and I go to crank the stand down and the knob is still tightened to lock it down, it will still crank down. Now I don't make it a practice of doing that, but sometimes it will. Its a little worriesome, but if you don't even tighten it down the stand stays where you cranked it to anyways.

[6.6' / 2 m] These stands are perfect for raising light weight backgrounds, scrims and silks above the set. They have good options for handling a scrim frame or background pole. Used in tandem they are perfect for a 12' or 20' butterfly. They are not suitable for raising heavy weights above the set (e.g., counter-weighted booms, 5K lights) because the base is not designed for such weight.

[Included] I am using this holder to mount my cellphone onto a copy stand. Simple to use and accommodates cell phones in protective cases.

[1-1/8" Receiver] This is the kind of stand that takes the work out of light adjustments when you have a huge beauty dish and moonlight on a boom counterweighted and it's to heavy to lift and lower, pick up and move like I do 25 times a shoot. It gets so tiring and I hurt my shoulder so this stand has made moving and adjusting my heavy key light!

[Black, Silver] I bought several of these in different height sizes for boom arms. They are HEAVY {so don't buy these without wheels.....} but there are super sturdy and rock solid. They have a large footprint.....and the wheels allow smooth effortless movement and lock. Broken down, they will stand on their own because of the spikes above the wheels....which is super handy.

Well thought out design and the best engineered stands I've ever purchased. {but remember....they ARE heavy stands!!}

[Metal] I bought these for the tops of my light stands. The lights are small and compact led setups and these work well to get the angle I need. I'd buy them again.

[1-1/8" Receiver] Extremely robust and well-made product. Came assembled apart from the casters which took a couple of min to lock into place. The crank is great.

[Black, Silver] Nicely machined smartphone mount - dual springs keep it open for easy adjustments to set phone into cradle - good non-marring padding - wide area to accept phone with a case, and shape of contact area keeps it stable.
