    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How long does it last?

A: Thank you for your question. It will depend on size of battery and the amount of channels you are using with phantom power.

Q: 2. Do these have double zippers?

A: No, the Neewer Photography Sandbags have single zippers.

Q: 3. Can someone recommend a Hirose MALE 4 pin to D-Tap cable for this? I want to power my MixPre6 with a V-mount battery.

A: The Remote Audio Anton Bauer PowerTap to 4-Pin Male Hirose DC Power Cable (BH #RECAPTAPHIR) is a great cable option to connect a D-Tap power source to the Cable Techniques MX-POWERSLED for Sound Devices MixPre-3 And MixPre-6: https://bhpho.to/3b8c7JE

Q: 4. Does this unit regulate power? I want to use this with a V-mount battery, but concerned about sending too much voltage to my MixPre-6 (original version). I can't find any power voltage specs in the MixPre owner manuals.

A: Yes, the Cable Techniques MX-POWERSLED for Sound Devices MixPre-3 And MixPre-6 sends a regulated 7.2V DC power input to the MixPre and accepts a 9-24V DC input range from external sources.

Q: 5. If the MX-Powersled is attached to a Mixpre 6, will it still fit in the K-Tek Stingray bag made for the Mixpre? Or, do you need to jump up in bag size to the K-Tek Junior?

A: HiIn my case I use the Mixpre 6 with the Mx-Powersled without any problem and with enough space in the K-Tek KSTGMIX Stingray - B&H # KTKSTGMIX MFR # KSTGMIX.BRRenzo M.

Q: 6. Does the sled attach securely to either the Mixpre 3 or the Mixpre 6?

A: Yes this will fit Sound Devices Mixpre like a glove secure.

Q: 7. Which version of LW is this for?

A: This would be good for version 11 and higher.

Q: 8. How this cable is wired - what is the connection between XLR pins 1, 2 and 3 with a small stereo jack?

A: This is not a published specification for the Coiled 8 Cable for Sennheiser MKE 600 into DSLR Camera 3.5mm Microphone Input. Please contact Cable Techniques by calling 1-858-636-7834, or e-mailing info@cableteq.com.

Q: 9. Do these gloves come in small?

A: No, the PGYTECH Photography Gloves only come in Medium, Large and Extra Large. These are some options that are small, https://bhpho.to/3h94Hst .

Q: 10. do these gloves have leather on them?

A: No, the PGYTECH Photography Gloves (L) does not have leather on the gloves. The glove’s main material is 70% polyester, 12% nylon, and 18% PU. The gloves’ lightweight and breathable multi-layer design features a HIPORA waterproof outer layer, a windproof layer and a thermal inner liner made from soft, 3M Thinsulate™ insulation to ensure your hands stay warm and dry. The palms are covered in a PU anti-slip lining to help prevent accidental slips or drops.

[September, 2013] Sled is very well constructed and provides a nice alternative to powering your MixPre-6/3 while freeing up the USB-C port for streaming.

[Focal Press] This saved the day on a remote job that I had. The mx-powersled fits snug on the mixpre 3 and makes it possible to unplug and go. I powering it through the usb c but this makes it far more accessible and easier to manage.

[September, 2013] This powersled is the only way to go! It is quality construction made of metal and the four pin hi-rosie attachment is superior to other alternatives.

[Soft] Nice to have a up to date reference for B&W photography in print. Has most of the information that I have had to dig out of the web over the last 10 years and much more. This book is a must for any serious B&W photographer.

[Harold Davis] Upgraded my sound kit with the new MixPre-6 but didnt want to power via, USB-C, AA or L-Mount.  This allows me to use my existing NP-1 distribution system. Its a tight fit and can be hard to unmount and swap SD cards.

[Focal Press] I updated my audio bag to include an SD MixPre-6 but wasn't thrilled with the powering options. But when I found this, I pressed order! And I'm glad I did. It works nicely withRemote AudioBDSv4U.

[208] Snaps in really securely and is solidly all metal, though you have to be careful when inserting. I also have the 8 battery sled and the Sony sled but even those don't match the run time of this with a v-mount battery. You can also use this with an NP1 cup. The Sony sled holds batteries in awkward positions. The only downside of this unit is that you have to use this and the battery with a decent size bag.

[Soft] Makes you think in black & white. Using non-present color for contrast. Challenges you to be creative, such as light, lines, and texture that are lost in color photography. Great tips and techniques. A must-read reference for developing skills in monochrome.

[September, 2013] The Sound Devices MixPre-6 II is a great, compact recorder, but it eats AA batteries for lunch.

Some users power their MixPre-6 II (and MixPre-3 II) with USB power banks, but the USB connection is fragile and risks getting pulled out of place while in use. Enter the Hirose adapter.

If you’re using one of the smaller MixPre units, there’s nothing like an NP-1 or HiQ battery for getting through an entire production day, and the Hirose adapter allows for use with the proper battery cup.

The MX Powersled features solid, metal construction that snaps easily in place on the recorder. This is a great power solution for the MixPre-3/6 II recorders.
