A: Currently RED lists it as exclusively for their cards: "The RED® CFexpress Card Reader is designed exclusively for offloading data from RED® PRO CFexpress 660GB and 1.3TB media cards to your workstation." A: Yes, the San Disk CFExpress Type B cards can be read by this Red Digital Cinema CFExpress Card Reader.

Q: 7. Is it compatible with any v-mount battery or red brick only?

A: I know it works with my IDX slims. I think that's the lowest you can go as far as wattage though. Anything from there on up, you should be fine. Honestly though, unless you already have VLock batteries, I'd go for the bricks. Just get two. They last WAY longer and you can see the percentage of battery life on the monitor.

Q: 8. Does this allow for a second monitor output? I need to use the SDI out for broadcast, and need a 2nd for an external monitor

A: The RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO Link Adapter will pair with an iPhone or Android device and RED Control software for a live preview as an external view.

Q: 9. Is it possible to mount on DSMC2?

A: This is specifically for the Red Komodo. It will not work with DSMC2 bodies.

Q: 10. Are the 1/4 20 holes on top of the outrigger handle the same as the ones on the komodo distance wise?

[0.15 lb] Got this for the Komodo X, fits perfectly and sits flush with the bevels of the KX body. I was also able to mount a crab clamp on the top for the microphone so the holes definitely come in handy. 5

[0.15 lb] Heres the thing about RED. Yes, all of their stuff is pricey. I find myself staring at my shopping cart thinking before I buy anything for my RED. After every purchase, though, I have had my expectations exceeded. You truly get what you pay for and this handle is no exception. The molded grip feels very comfortable, the programmable buttons are a fantastic feature, and the fact that it bolts into the side of the camera brain without obstructing any mounting holes on the top of the camera is a big plus. 5

[0.15 lb] Massive upgrade to the Outrigger Handle. The Outrigger has its use cases, but it's impractical because you can't quickly break it down for gimbal use, had very minimal mounting points, and was not modular in design whatsoever. The Compact Top Handle solves all of this and to be honest, I much prefer a multi-purpose top handle over anything. This thing is rock solid and practical. 5
