[Aluminum] Works as described, no problems. I use Fotodiox step up rings for all my Hasselblad lenses and have no complaints. 5

[Aluminum] I never tried a brass step up ring , I tried some plastic cheap ones and they always get stuck and I end up breaking them to remove them , but this one is so amazing and feel solid and easy to remove from the filter I guess if I need a step up ring again , I know what to purchase! Totally worth the price! 5

[Aluminum] I use it on my nifty fifty and my ef-s 24mm. I put a 67mm ND fader on it. You can really touch the quality. It's not a cheap metal ring. It has texture. So, it is easier to put screw in and out. Note that the smallish focus ring of the 50mm 1.8 II is hard to handle with the ring on. Autofocus will be your only solution for certain situations. That problem will not occur for other lenses (or the newest 50mm 1.8) where the focus ring is not on the very end of the lens. 5
