A: According to the manufacturer, the 5/8" baby pin stud on the end of the Kupo Baby Handheld Boom Arm (Aluminum) is tight fitted into the tube and fixed with crossed pins instead of a single pin. Basically, the baby pin would not loosen if you stay below the maximum payload listing of 7.94 lb (3.6 kg).

Q: 7. Can this be safely used with a regular light stand? (and a sand bag, I suppose)

A: While the Kupo Baby 5/8" Offset Arm (Chrome-plated) can be used on any 5/8" stud, it is recommended for use with C-stands and other heavy-duty stands.

Q: 8. Do the locking pins dig directly in the poles or is there a metal "brake" for better grip and less damage to the pole?

A: There is a brake between the pole and the collar to add friction and prevent damage to the pole.

[Iron] This is a well made accessory. I am using it on top of the Kupo Baby Kit Stand with Square Legs (9.5'). The fit is perfect. Works exactly as I wanted to offset whatever gear I mount on the stand a bit. 5

[4.955 lb] While the Setti does not fit the pin tightly, I had an adpater and the offset is exactly what I wanted for a more compact solution for my Setti. BTW it handles up to 44lbs as confirmed by Kupo support (2 different agents provided the same info) 5

[Iron] I use it everytime I shoot! Wether a strobe or constant lighting, the offset is right above center of my camera giving me the light exactly where I want it. The build quality is superb and professional looking. I am absolutely happy with it and now currently looking at other products that can improve my lighting placement. 5
