A: Hi Nabil. Essentially, there is a slight variation in the circuitry on the IL-19-SS model versus the standard IL-19, which our engineers did in order to make the unit more closely mimic the older, metal-barreled IL-19s that Sescom made back in the 80s and 90s. Both units currently utilize an ABS plastic housing, and when the change to that housing was made, some people found that it didn’t ground as well to the chassis of older racks and cabinets as the old metal ones did, and hence the IL-19-SS was created to combat that. I would suggest the standard IL-19 first, as that tends to work for most people and most situations and I don’t think the IL-19-SS would offer any particular advantage in an active bass situation.
