The Fujinon UA27x6.5BESM-E45 4K Studio Box Lens 2x Extenderis a box-type lens with a 27x zoom ratio. Designed so you can get up close and personal at sporting events and other large-scale productions, this zoom features a fast f/1.5 maximum aperture from 6.5-180mm. Use the built-in 2x extender to extend the zoom range to 13-360mm.

Aspherical elements help provide an ultra-high resolution of 4K, and the lens maintains high contrast levels and HDR (high dynamic range) from its wide to its telephoto end. It is constructed with a 9-blade iris for attractive bokeh and natural-looking bright objects. The lens has 16-bit encoders to output data for use with virtual systems.

NOTE: A focus/zoom servo system is not included with the lens. This box zoom requires the use of one of several compatible Fujinon servo control setups (not included).

[f/1.7 to 2.2] I really took a chance on getting this extender. After hearing negative comments from users and reviewers for so many years about 2x teleconverters, I figured I'd try it since I could always return it if it didn't fit the bill. This extender is exceptional! I'm using it with an RF100-500 on an Canon R3; Near as I can tell, I'm losing an insignificant amount in image quality, and while the viewfinder image is a little bit darker, which I expected, the lens and extender combination is not nearly as heavy as I expected, and I've now got a manageable 600-1000mm super telephoto. I'm taking my name off the RF200-800 wait lists... 5

[2/3" (16:9)] Leaving next week on a photo safari and thought I would give my 2X a test. I was amazed I could get that amount of detail hand-held. I have complete confidence I'll be able to capture a distant subject. 5

[27x] I ordered this to use for the solar eclipse and wildlife. I've only had a chance to test it on images of the full sun disk with solar filter and so far I'm impressed. I'm excited to add the extra reach to my 100-500 lens in such a small package. 5

[2x] The Extender RF 2x does what you'd expect it to do - doubles the focal length of the lens and doubles the minimum f-number. Optical quality is good; when used together with an RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens, there's only a small loss of sharpness, and some of that may be unavoidable due to diffraction. Autofocus continues to work with the extender, but image stabilization can become unreliable. 5

[2' / 0.6 m] I own the 100-500, which is an amazing lens. I also used to own the 800f/11 which I used on a nature photo contest a couple of years ago. The 800 seemed too limiting and took up a lot of space in my bag. I decided to sell it and buy this 2x. Wow am I glad I did. I returned to the same contest and can't believe how well this matches with my 100-500. Some points: - I really wish Canon had made the 100-500 just slightly bigger so the extender both worked the full range and didn't make you walk around with the lens extended. I understand that there would be overlap between the ranges of the lens between native and extended, but I would be fine with that. - however the image quality and AF were amazing. From an ergonomics perspective on the 100-500 it would get a 2 or a 3, but this review is on the extender itself and I could not be more impressed with how well it works, and it clearly takes up very little room in the bag. 5

[2x] My Canon R6 Mk II is a nice camera but needs a more magnification when photographing the sun and moon. The RF 2x makes that possible with no noticeable degradation of quality. 5
