Mastering engineers take note: the Dangerous COMPRESSOR is designed to give you transparent dynamics control, so you can reign in dynamic material, make it loud, and minimize dynamic comprises. With a bevy of useful features, this VCA compressor can help you deliver a master that’s every bit as loud and impactful as the competition, while allowing you to retain a sense of dynamics.

A big selling point for the COMPRESSOR is its versatility: the BOX can handle anything from hip hop to acoustic folk with ease. Such versatility is achieved through separate detection circuits for the right and left channels (maintaining impeccable stereo separation), switchable dual-slope detection circuits (for handling peaks and average levels differently), and comprehensive sidechain filtering (to keep low end from triggering compression, or to help tame sibilant material). Add audiophile-grade components throughout as well as stepped controls for perfect recall, and you’ll have a compressor up for transparently handling the most demanding tasks—all without the intermodulation distortion so typical from similar methods employed in the digital realm.

When linked in stereo, most compressors take the left and right signals, combine them to mono, and send the combined signal to a detector circuit. This causes the loudest elements in the center to dominate information in the sides. Even worse, any out of phase information will either be ignored or exaggerated.

The COMPRESSOR utilizes two totally independent RMS detectors on each channel, with a nuanced and sophisticated circuit governing how they work together in stereo. This allows the unit to deliver crystal-clear and rock-solid stereo imaging when processing a full mix, a drum buss, a finished master, or any stereo material.

What's more, you can use each channel as an independent mono compressor, or you can cascade the two channels into each other for ultra-transparent compression with peak limiting. Try this for riding a vocal, a spiky lead instrument, or any other track where powerful yet transparent control is demanded.

The COMPRESSOR has a dual-slope detector that you can engage with the SmartDyn button. With SmartDyn engaged, the COMPRESSOR can control fast transient peaks without causing average volume levels to drop. This lets you maintain higher average volume levels while avoiding the pumping artifacts commonly incurred when pushing toward the expectations of modern loudness.

Smart Dynamics is equally helpful when tracking a dynamic singer or mixing a snappy drum kit, and most users end up leaving the "SmartDyn" button engaged at all times.

The COMPRESSOR includes an automatic attack/release setting that works intelligently, so you can just focus on the threshold and make-up gain knobs. If you need more precise settings for attack and release, simply press the Manual Att/Rel button and start tweaking.

The COMPRESSOR includes two bypassable, audiophile-grade sidechain EQs. These feed the detector circuit, changing the behavior of the compression.

Bass Cut turns down low end below 60 Hz, so the COMPRESSOR won't overreact to low-frequency content, or create pumping.

The Sibilance Boost utilizes the BAX EQ's ultra-linear high-end shelf to push more treble content into the detector, which causes The COMPRESSOR to dynamically attenuate sibilance and other unwanted spikes of high-end, such as harsh cymbals, blaring loops, or erratic acoustic guitar strums.

The dual VU meters can show you gain reduction, input levels, or output levels. There is a -6 dB offset button, so that loud material is always hovering in a usable range, perfect for visually monitoring average levels.

What VUs cannot show you are the lightning-fast transients. That's where the LED metering comes in. Together, the VU and LED meters provide critical insights into the intricate inner workings of the COMPRESSOR in action.

Chris Muth designed the COMPRESSOR, and his name is synonymous with fastidious design used throughout the world of high-end mastering studios. He ensured that only high-quality components were used, even in areas of the circuit that don't pass audio. Detector and control voltage circuits (which lie at the heart of any compressor but are not in the audio path) are often built from substandard components in order to cut costs. However, these detector components dictate how well any compressor behaves, and if you seek nuance and intelligence you'll adore the COMPRESSOR.

[<0.005%] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right out of the box I was impressed with the quality and size of the music frame. The choice to hang on the wall or use the stand is a bonus.
I have a Samsung phone and Samsung TV so connecting to the Smart Things app was fairly easy. The instructions could be a bit more detailed. I decided to connect via Bluetooth rather than wifi.
The Music Frame is a perfect addition to our Livingroom the sound is amazing, I was skeptical. It is not too bassy like most sound systems are. No matter where you position the frame,it sounds fantastic. We chose to hang it on the wall, centered above our couch, with the included hardware. The frame blends well with the rest of our decor.
We like that you can control on your phone, especially the volume. It connected to Alexa with ease.
The music sounds crisp and clear, as if you were at a concert, connected to the TV, sounds just as amazing.
We are very pleased with this purchase. We are thinking of purchasing another for our master bedroom.

[<0.007%] We are using this unit with two wireless lavalier mics used by trainers presenting in hotel ballrooms and consider it a bargain for how much performance improvement it has yielded.

After watching a few YouTube videos I was able to configure some defaults for vocals and then fine tune using the meters and my ears.

We have much better control now and fewer requests to make it louder but also not feed back while the person is standing in front of the PA while also making it not so loud while the presenter is shouting GET READY TO ROCK AND ROLLLLLL! or whatever at the beginning of the event.

[+27 dBu] Killer quality and sound. It definitely widens the stereo field a bit. The transformer button wont be for everyone. I tried it on the 2 track and didnt like it, but gave it a go on the bass buss and yeah dude big time.

[2] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Music Frame blew us away.. This little frame packs quite the punch. We have tried quite a few different steaming devices on it and they all sound excellent. Also, Siri and Alexa can be enabled (through the app) so that you can utilize the Music Frame as an Alexa extension, this is amazing.

We have tried it during work calls as well, and it pairs excellent to hear your calls through the frame. We are looking to customize the picture within the frame to one of our own, but the one that it comes with (a record player) looks and fits in beautifully with our decor.

I think Samsung hit it out of the park with this innovative music frame and we are very happy we got it. Also if you own a frame TV, you can purchase two of these and hang close to the TV so it looks like an art gallery but in reality you have some serious Dolby Atmos surround sound. Don't miss out, this is amazing!

[17.905 lb] I've been lusting after a physical LA2A for years. I actually first used one in the early 1970's in a radio station, their original market. I've tried a number of plugins, some of which aren't bad. But the weird mixture of tubes, transformers and a light bulb (panel in this case) is just hard to beat. Like all great audio gear, you may cease to notice it when it's there, but you'll truly miss it when it's not there. I have a number of wildly dynamic singers in the studio, and this just works the magic to make their vocals sit in the mix. And it makes those same vocals bigger sounding at the same time. Is it the best LA2A clone out there? I don't know since I can't test it against all the rest. But it's darn good. BTW, let me put to rest any fears about build quality, etc. This is my second (and won't be my last) piece of Warm Audio kit. Absolutely no issues with the way these beasts arrive and work. Possibly, outside of acoustic treatment, the best investment I've ever made in my studio.

[+27 dBu] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This speaker is incredible! It's all the quality you expect from Samsung speakers, but in a super beautiful design that seamlessly blends in just about anywhere. Straight out of the box, this speaker is larger and heavier than I expected, and feels very high quality. It's about the size of a vinyl record - I have this speaker by my record player, and it complements the space beautifully. It also came with a stand and a wall mounting kit, so you can set it up just about anywhere.

The art panel that sits on the front of the speaker is a classy matte finish with a mat border that really makes it look like art. It came with two printed designs to choose from, but it's super easy to customize your art panel even more - 8x10 photo paper fits perfectly in the art panel, so I immediately printed some art from my favorite soundtracks to display instead, and it looks amazing. But if you plan to replace the art in the panel, I highly recommend going to a relatively dust free space to avoid any dust getting in the panel.

The speaker has booming audio that can get much louder than I expected, and has powerful bass for such a small package. My roommate was so impressed that she's going to pick one up, too! I also love how easily it connects to other devices. It has built in Chromecast that connects so quickly and effortlessly. It can also connect via wifi and bluetooth. I'm very happy with this speaker!

[2] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Samsung Music Frame HW-LS60D, and I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed! This device is a game-changer for anyone who loves both music and a touch of style in their home. First off, the design is sleek and modern. It literally looks like a piece of art, blending seamlessly with my home décor. The setup was a breeze, I had it out of the box and playing music in no time. The sound quality is fantastic, especially when paired with a Samsung TV using the Q-Symphony feature. It synchronizes with the TV’s built-in speakers, enhancing the overall audio experience and making movie nights truly cinematic. Whether I’m listening to music or watching a movie, the clarity and richness of the sound are outstanding. The bass is deep and powerful without overpowering the mid and high tones. The wireless connections via Bluetooth and WiFi are flawless. I can easily stream music from my smartphone or connect the soundbar with my TV without any messy cables. It’s super convenient and user-friendly. What I love most is that I can add Alexa and how it doubles as a decorative piece when not in use. It doesn’t just sit there like a regular speaker. Instead, it displays beautiful art or personal photos, making it a real conversation starter. Overall, I would highly recommend the Samsung Music Frame HW-LS60D to anyone looking to elevate their listening experience while adding a splash of sophistication to their living space. It’s definitely worth the investment!

[+27 dBu] I bought this compressor, at the recommendation of a friend, to level out the extreme voice volume fluctuation of my pastor. I have been extremely pleased with the result...exactly what I wanted. The pastor can now be clearly heard all throughout the chapel without me having to try and manually adjust his volume ups and downs. It takes a little time to set this up to get just the right wireless mic input into the compressor, but the result is noise free and evenly adjusted volume. On the recording, I hear no noise and the quality is excellent. I received instant comments from many worshippers on the improvement. I could not be happier!!
