The Ashly ne8800S Digital Signal Processor with AES Outputfrom Ashly ne8800S Digital Signal Processor with AES Outputis a network-enabled DSP processor that offers easy setup and control using standard 10/100 Ethernet protocol and Protea ne software. The unit features eight analog inputs and eight analog outputs, along with eight channels of AES3 output, with the digital card filling one of the four option bays that provide expanded functionality.

The DSP signal processing library is extensive and utilizes multiple SHARC 32-bit processors with sample rates of either 48 or 96 kHz. Processing blocks include a 8 x 8 matrix mixer, a full array of graphic, parametric and all-pass equalization, crossover filters including 8th-order Butterworth, Bessel, Linkwitz-Riley and notched Linkwitz-Riley.

The Protea Software Suite also includes an automatic feedback suppressor, gain sharing automatic microphone mixing, ambient noise sensing and level adjustment, autolevelers, compressors, matrix duckers, limiters, frequency-keyed noise gates, signal delay up to 1365 ms on every channel and a choice of sinewave, pink or white noise generators.

All programming is accomplished using standard 10/100 Ethernet or RS-232 protocol and Protea ne software on a PC platform. Hot-plug software control allows for plugging any function into any channel block, even when running live audio with recompiling necessary. Automatic DHCP network IP configuration reduces network set up time. Multi-level software security with password access provides a tamper-proof audio system.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this cable's db 25 connector follow the Tascam or Yamaha protocol?

A: The Avid DB25-XLR M+F AES/EBU DigiSnake follows the Tascam protocol for AES/ EBU digital connections only. This cable is not designed to be used with an analog DB25 connection.

Q: 2. Will a mono input be summed to both left and right outputs?

A: No, the Henry Engineering Patchbox II Analog Stereo Output Multiplier and Signal Converter provides stereo input and stereo output. The left and right inputs connect to the left and right outputs. If you have a mono audio source and connect to a single input on the Patchbox, it will be output for the corresponding outputs. For example, if you connect to a left input only, then the audio will be sent to all of the left outputs on the Patchbox. So if you need to have a dual mono output, then you can use any two left outputs from the Patchbox.

Q: 3. Do you use this software with MIDI keyboard?

A: SIGNAL does require a MIDI keyboard and can be used as a standalone synth or within a host DAW software as a plug-in.

Q: 4. Will this work in Logic ProX?

A: Although ChannelStrip for GarageBand is an Audio Units plug-in, it will only function fully in GarageBand. It will run in other AU hosts, but only in demo mode.

Q: 5. Will this work with Lewitt LCT 040 Diaphragm Condenser Microphones?

A: No, the Polsen XP-2 2-Channel Microphone Signal Booster does not pass phantom power and as a result is not compatible with condenser microphones.

Q: 6. Is it better than the DBX drive rack?

A: Both the Ashly and DBX units are solid products and share many similar features. Your application would determine which product is correct for you. Please feel free to contact a Representative here at 800-606-6969 or email audio@a href= http://bandh.com target= _blank bandh.com/a for information and assistance.

Q: 7. This unit offers quarter inch balanced inputs. Is there a unit which offers XLR inputs? Output options are great. Input options are lacking.

A: There does not appear to be a unit similar to the Henry Engineering Patch Box II Analog Stereo Output Multiplier and Signal Converter with XLR inputs, however our selection of "press box" items features similar functionality with mostly XLR connectivity: https://bhpho.to/3DwDvLw

Q: 8. Does this unit support Audio Return Channel (ARC)?

A: This unit provides a one-way signal boost from a source, such as an AV receiver or a Blu-ray player to the television, and ARC support is not mentioned by Startech as a feature that is supported by this product.

Q: 9. whats is the warranty ?

A: The Lectrosonics DM1612 is covered by a one year limited warranty from the manufacturer.

Q: 10. what causes the beeping sound?

A: Without further detail it is hard to say for certain, but the beeping sound on the Ashly Protea 24.24M - Audio Matrix Processor with Tamper-Proof Operation and System Software for Windows is likely an indication of a process in function, an error, or another undetermined indication.

[10 lb (4.5 kg)] This little box is a life saver. Need another balanced output without having to crawl around the back to repatch? Easy. Need to interface with some consumer gear? No problem. Yes, there are products that can do this, but MULTIPLES AT A TIME? And without noticeable signal degradation? Get this unit and thank yourself over and over again.

[12 lb] This purchase was to complement an existing cable of the exact same type. A perfect digital I/O csble for Lynx Aurora (n) systems! And, B&H has the best retail price online to boot!

Thanks!

[12 lb] My only gripe is I wish it had XLR inputs as well as 1/4 but that's minor...so far its been flawless

[12 lb] I bought this to split a balanced audio source into both balanced xlr and unbalanced rca powered speaker setup. Works great.

[10 lb (4.5 kg)] I purchased one of these for my church. We're using it to split a spare console output to two camcorders and one audio recorder...and now if someone else wants to do some recording, we're ready! It's a nice little passive splitter in a solid metal box. All the outputs are resistively isolated from the incoming bus, so an accidental short such as a bad cable won't kill the signals to the other devices. The back has two slotted mouting holes for installing on a wall if desired, but no screws are provided. Perhaps a tad expensive for what it is, but the quality seems excellent. The only other minor negative I can see is the use of TRS jacks for the console inputs. XLR females would probably be a bit more robust. Overall, though, I rate it 5 stars.

[10 lb (4.5 kg)] I bought this output multiplier to expand the 3/4 output on my Universal Audio Apollo. The Apollo has an adat in for additional inputs, but not adat out. This allow me to run the 3/4 output to multiple devices for processing. The sound is transparent and the output multiplier works great!

[12 lb] I have purchased 2 of these in past 3-4 years from B&H. Being passive output multiplier, it helps to get one output from Audio mixer board at the auditorium and have option to get multiple outputs. Awesome sound quality. Hats off to HENRY ENGINEERING
