Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I set each input channel to 1080 or 720 separately?

A: The inputs on the Datavideo SE-1200MU 6-Input Switcher and RMC-260 Controller Bundle need to operate at the same video standard. So it can either be 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720.

Q: 2. Can you take the HDMI output of the SE-1200MU and capture it on a Mac using Final Cut software?

A: Yes, you can capture the HDMI output with a capture device connected to your Mac. A product example that interfaces with Final Cut Pro is Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Mini Recorder BH #BLUSMINIREC • MFR #BDLKULSDZMINREC. https://bhpho.to/2L9DOSS. This will connect to a Mac through thunderbolt. This does not come with a thunderbolt cable and if working with thunderbolt 3, you will need a Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter. Q: 3. Does video cary over IP or does it require I use a 2nd set of cables for SDI/NDI/HDMI, etc?

A: The PTZOptics Producer-4K Camera & Controller Bundle (Gray) can carry video signals via NDI|HX3 or IP over Ethernet.

Q: 4. Does this system have to be connected to the network to operate all three cameras?

A: The PTZOptics PT-JOY-G4 IP/Serial Joystick Controller (4th Generation) included in the PTZOptics Producer-SE Camera & Controller Bundle (Gray) would need to be connected to the same Ethernet network as each PTZOptics Move SE SDI/HDMI/USB/IP PTZ Camera with 20x Optical Zoom (Gray) in order to control the cameras via IP. The controller can also be connected via serial RS-232 and daisy chained between the cameras for control via serial as well.

Q: 5. Does the SE-1200 MU use cooling fans? If so, what is the noise level?

A: There is no mention of a fan or fan noise here or at Datavideo for the Datavideo SE-1200MU 6-Input Switcher and RMC-260 Controller Bundle.

Q: 6. Can it be upgraded to 8 channel?

A: There is no official way to "upgrade" it to 8 channels, you would have to add separate additional hardware or replace the whole switcher with an 8 channel switcher like the Datavideo SE-4000 (BH #DASE4000).

Q: 7. How is the output recorded? To a external hard drive or is there a card slot for SD card?

A: This switcher does not have any recording capabilities built in to it. However it does have SDI and HDMI outputs which you can use with recording devices. Datavideo also offers the HRS-30 Portable Hand Carried SD/HD-SDI Recorder, B&H # DAHRS30. You could also look at products like the Atomos Shogun Flame, B&H # ATOMSHGFL2.https://bhpho.to/2yKDFNHhttps://bhpho.to/2Gyy7tw

Q: 8. Hi. Does it do live titling too?

A: Luis:There are two ways you can bring in live graphics (lower-thirds). 1. Since SE-1200 does have chroma key and luma key, you can bring in a video source from you laptop and key in a graphic using a program such as PowerPoint or Word. 2. SE-1200 also has a DSK (or down stream keyer). Datavideo offers the TC-200 (I think around $700 on B&H site), which includes software for your PC laptop. This will allow you to bring in the video using on the downstream of your production. Upstream is also possible. Both solutions would require a laptop, but both are easy to set-up. Datavideo does have videos which will show you how to use the TC-200 at a href= http://www.datavideo.com target= _blank www.datavideo.com/aCraig

Q: 9. Will this output a 4K stream for live streaming?

A: Yes, the cameras in the kit of the PTZOptics Producer-4K Camera & Controller Bundle (Gray) will produce up to 4K60p from the HDMI for live streaming.

Q: 10. Can I use an ordinary LED display with this unit? Would an ordinary LED monitor split as shown in the image above?

A: Hi Wizarts,Yes, you can use a generic HDMI monitor for a multi-view display. The switcher is outputting a multi-view display, so any HDMI monitor that can support HD resolutions is compatible to use with the SE-1200MU.

[f/1.8 to 2.8] We've only had it a couple of weeks, but this is a great unit. It is solidly built and easy to program / set up. It's heavy enough to not worry about it sliding on the table top. I really love the POE feature so there's no need for extra power cable -- this helps to reduce clutter on the desktop. The Joystick responds well and is easy to use.

I do with all the buttons lit up, or perhaps light up a second or two when pressed (as a visual feedback). My other wish is that it had feet or a stand that could make it angle a little more. But these wish-list items do not discount my 5-star rating.

Overall, this is a great unit. I would definitely purchase this one again.

[16x] We installed 4 of these at church along with an ATEM and controller. The picture quality, zoom capability, and auto tracking is fantastic. Zero complaints. Easy to install. Setting the static IP addresses for the controller was about the hardest part but there are online videos that cover that. All-in-all very pleased with these cameras.

[16x] We use this in a church sanctuary to control three PTZ cameras. Previously, we had PTZ's IP SuperController, which was frankly, a pretty bad experience. We took a chance one this newer iteration and we love it. Solidly built, responds well, controls what we need and most importantly has not once had to reboot itself at the slightest static shock.

[55 dB] I purchased four of these PTZOptics Move Cameras and they have all been great. I am using them with the PTZOptics controller PT-JOY-G4 and an ATEM Mini Switcher. The presets get you there fast and we are pretty happy with the set-up. Definitely recommended.

[16x] I use this controller for up to three PTZ 30x cameras, via PoE Ethernet. Nearly every feature of the camera is accessible through this controller. Besides pan, tilt and zoom, I regularly use manual exposure control, and up to 10 preset positions for each camera. A particularly nice feature is the ability to attach an HDMI monitor to view the currently selected camera via Ethernet RTSP. You set the speed one notch below that of your HDMI or SDI video. This is an essential feature when working with software (e.g., WireCast) or hardware (e.g., SlingStudio) which has a significant lag time. The monitor lag is only a few frames, which is easy to accommodate. I ultimately bought two Superjoy controllers, because I rely on it for nearly every job.

[PoE 802.3af] AI Auto Tracking is outstanding! Almost looks like a human is controlling the camera! This PTZ is packed with features! Auto focus, 256 presets, manual exposure control, NDI capable, HDMI, SDI, RS232, Ethernet, USB-C to name a few! Tested indoor and outdoor with great results! Very happy with my purchase!

[6.07 lb] Our church was in the process of updating our live stream cameras that have lasted for about 10 years. After doing some YouTube research, we found that PTZOptics was the correct option for us. The quality and ease of setup was incredible; highly recommend for small to medium size church.

[20x] This controller has been incredibly easy to configure and use. While some functions required the manual to figure out, others are so intuitive that I was able to figure them out via trial and error on the first try. This is a solid addition to our livestream ecosystem.

[NTSC/PAL] Our church was using cheapo consumer camcorders, and the upgrade to these was mind-blowing. Not only did we get pan, tilt, zoom capability, but the picture quality is amazing. The sensor is quite a bit bigger than our old cameras which helps a lot. The online zoom calculator made it easy to figure out which specific model to get, and there are so many connectivity features here that we'll be set for years to come. for now we are just using HDMI out to a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro switcher and we have PoE for network and power. We bought two of these and that's all we really need, but now I'm itching to add one more.
