The M2 Ultra is built from two M2 Max dies connected through UltraFusion, which is Apple's custom-built packaging technology. UltraFusion uses a silicon interposer that connects the dies with more than 10,000 signals, providing over 2.5 TB/s of low latency interprocessor bandwidth. UltraFusion's architecture enables the M2 Ultra to appear as a single chip to software. This means code doesn't need to be rewritten to utilize the extreme performance of the M2 Ultra.

The 24-Core CPU of the M2 Ultra consists of 16 next-gen performance cores and eight next-gen high-efficiency cores, delivering up to 20% faster performance than its predecessor, the M1 Ultra. Combined with a 60-core GPU and 128GB of unified RAM with 800 GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, this Mac Pro has the performance of not just one, but seven Afterburner cards built-in. It also features the industry-leading media engine, allowing playback of up to 22 streams of 8K ProRes video.

Combine Apple silicon performance with the versatility of PCI expansion. The Mac Pro features six PCIe Gen 4.0 slots, which provide twice the bandwidth for audio and video I/O, networking, and storage cards. There are two double-height PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 slots, two single-height PCIe 4.0 x8 slots, and two double-height PCIe 4.0 x 8 slots. There is also a half-length PCIe 3.0 x4 slot that is occupied by the Apple I/O card.

The Mac Pro offers a wide array of connectivity, starting with eight Thunderbolt 4 ports, which support up to 40 Gb/s data transfer rates and DisplayPort. There are also two HDMI ports that support high-bandwidth 48 Gb/s HDMI, enabling resolutions up to 8K and refresh rates up to 240 Hz. The two USB-A ports can handle legacy USB devices while the 3.5mm audio jack provides headphone support. There are also wireless connectivity enhancements, such as Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. You can also opt for a reliable, wired connection via the dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN jacks.

A: Apple makes an adaptor for thunderbolt to Firefire. Due to the insane speed of thunderbolt, you can probably run several drives daisy chained on one adaptor. There are six thunderbolt ports on this computer.

A: There is no hybrid analog/optical output, as there was on the tower version of Mac Pro.I had to buy a separate USB device for that.

A: Hey Ronney,Yes and no and here is why.You can not go full screen but you can connect to each other by wifi or ethernet and then go to finder window and share screen.you can share the Mac Pro's screen on the iMac this way.You may want to start the Mac Pro up first using hdmi and a tv and then share screen.Good luck.Walt

[1280 W with IEC] I picked up a 2023 M2 Pro Mac Mini 16G / 1 TB. I have been on Mac for what seems forever. I am moving from an 3.2 core i7 2018 Mac mini. First...free overnight shipping with signature. Perfect.... computer is not going to a porch pirate. The machine is awesome. I expect to hold on to this for several years. I perfect this form factor over the Mac Studio. This machine is so fast. it boots in about 15 seconds. The Apple Logo and progress bar at boot time, barely spend any time on screen before the desktop appears and the machine is up and running. There is nothing holding this Mac back. I am really pleased with it. B&H Photo... they are awesome and I have my eye on a few more things I need. No regrets!! 5

[Wireless Mouse] Extremely fast and efficient. I do a lot of graphics and photography, both video and stills and love the speed of this machine. A little on the costly side, but you get what you pay for and this Mac Pro is worth it. Cost offset by increased speed of production. 5

[Mid 2023] If you need to rip a lot of music for iTunes/Apple Music, you need a local host to store your files, either a PC or Mac. You can't use an iPad or iPhone to do so. I chose the Mac Mini for my wife's music library because it was reasonably priced compared to replacing her comparably configured MacBook Air and she only travels with her iPad. 5

[2x HDMI Output] This is a very powerful Mac mini pro. 12 CPU, 19 GPU Cores, 32G, 1TB SSD GbE model. This high end version is snappier than the 10 core model that I have. It will do anything that I have thrown at it and is not noticeably slower than an M3 Max, laptop, in day-to-day operations. Highly recommended. 5
