$87.00 $118.32

The B+W 52mm 8x Cross Screen Filteris designed to be used perpendicular to a point light source such as the sun, a light bulb, or a candle. Within the filter's surface is a combination of fine, etched line types that help to create a starburst effect with eight primary diffraction spikes that extend from the light source.

This filter is most effective for pictures where the light source used to generate the starburst effect is a highlight with a significant degree of contrast from the rest of the image. The B+W 52mm Cross Screen 8x Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity, and features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention. The filter ring can be rotated in order to adjust the direction of the diffraction spikes and overall orientation of the starburst effect.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this filter a Nikon product or generic? I am interested in the 52mm Clear NC Glass Filter by Nikon and the 58mm Clear NC Glass Filter by Nikon.Thamks,Rich

A: The filter on this link is an offer for a Nikon original filter, not a generic. Below is a link to the same filter in 58mm size for you to also regard:http://bhpho.to/1fSDZhd

Q: 2. Will this lens work on my Nikon D90. I have one lens that is 18-105mm and another at 70-300mm

A: No, this is not the proper sized filter for these two lenses. The Nikon 18-105mm lens uses 67mm sized filter, and depending on which 70-300mm lens you have it could be either a 62mm size or 67mm sized filter. If you have the lens cap for the 70-300mm lens, simply remove it, and look on the underneath side of the lens and it will state filter size. Below are two links, the first is for 67mm sized filter recommendation, the second is for a 62mm sized for you to regard on our site:http://bhpho.to/1gI9JCAhttp://bhpho.to/ISN5vR

Q: 3. will this filter work on the tokina 11-16 nikon mount lens? does the lens cap fit like it's supposed to?Thank you!

A: Yes, the Nikon 77mm Clear NC Glass Filter will fit on the Tokina 11-16mm Nikon mount lens and will not interfere with the lens cap fitting properly.

Q: 4. does this effect exposure at all? If so by how many stops?

A: According to B+W, the filter factor of their Cross Screen 8x filters is 0, so there should be little to no affect on exposure.

Q: 5. Is this the best filter for the P7700?

A: The native filter size for the P7700 is 40.5mm I recommend the Nikon 40.5mm filter instead. http://bhpho.to/JAWyRD

Q: 6. Does this filter suit Canon 514 XL super 8 camera?

A: We recommend that you contact Canon for the filter thread specifications for this camera. This information may also be available labeled near the lens or in your manual.

Q: 7. Is this filter deep enough to allow the lens cap to lock onto it?

A: Yes the lens cap fits just fine.

Q: 8. what is the filter faction of this filter? Is there any exposure adjustment I should care before shooting?

A: the filter factor of this would be 3, so you must increase by 1 2/3 of a stop roughly.

Q: 9. Will this work well with achieving the sunray effect during sunrise/sunset? Will this filter effect the look of the image in any other way?

A: This will not help with the sunray effect at sunrise or sunset. It will give more of a twinkle/pointed star effect of the sun or any other prominent light sources, such as the example shown with the street lamps.

Q: 10. Does this fit the Sony SEL55210?

A: Yes, Sigma 49mm Protector Filter will fit the SEL55210 lens.

[8-Point Star] This is a super smooth, super quality focusing rack. The build quality is really impressive. Cross capability makes it ultra versatile so you do not have to keep repositioning a tripod horizontally or vertically. It is particularly useful to get the focusing extension which permits easier and more precise turning of focusing nob. I use it on a steady ball head tripod mount.
