A: Aperture priority mode will work; program mode and shutter priority modes willnot work, as the adapter will not engage the shutter control. Full manual mode will also work;I don't know if the rebel has an aperture priority mode, or a built in manuallight meter. I use the aperture priority mode on an EOS30D and EOS5D, withgreat results. If you have a T mount version of a Series 1 lens then the Vivitar T-Mount to Canon EF-Mount Adapter (B&H# VIHFT2CAN) would indeed work to mount your T mount Series 1 lens on the Canon 800D or Canon Rebel T7i, the latter being what your camera is called in North America.

Do note that specific telescopes may also require another adapter onto which you would connect the T-mount adapter for telescope usage.
