The Blonder Tongue MDDM-860 Micro ATSC/QAM Demodulatorby Blonder Tongue MDDM-860 Micro ATSC/QAM Demodulatorreceives one input signal in ATSC 8VSB (digital off-air) or QAM (digital cable) format and delivers one NTSC composite analog video and stereo audio output. The unit allows you to view a digital off-air program on an analog TV set. Headends processing analog broadcasts using Blonder Tongue's MIDM demodulators and MICM modulators can be upgraded to process digital broadcasts by replacing the MIDM with a MDDM.

The unit features a front panel custom mini USB to RS232 interface connector for program control. The front panel provides up and down control channel selection and a two digit display to identify the program channel as well as a 1 digit RF channel display to indicate the frequency/channel plan.

Q: 1. Is there a way to take the hdmi out from my computer and send it down the cable in my home. It looks like the Blonder Tongue CATV Channelized Audio/Video Modulator with SAW Filtering (Channels 37-94, 100-135) will send the signal down the cable but how can I get the hdmi in?

A: HDMI won't go directly in; the modulator accepts standard video in. There are converters that will down sample and convert your hdmi to standard video.Note that the converter sends the video out through RCA connectors and the modulator accepts video in via f-type connectors. I used something like these (though they were in stock when I purchased them) -hth

It sounds like this tuner will not support real 2160p. Is this true?

A: This product offers output scaling up to 4K through HDMI. However it is only inputting a signal up to 1080p HD. It does not input a 4K signal, it only scales the signal up to 4K for output.

Q: 8. I am looking for two rack mount computer monitors. Does not look like this one is going to work. Can you give me some options?

[0.9 lb] I purchase it as a 2 channel HDMI QAM modulator, Video quality is amazing, now i realized that I can also use it for IPTV streaming over our network, we streem 2 programs from Direct Tv Set top box to any of our 240 computers in our building , I search the net , i would need to pay more just for the IP streamers - good value 5
