Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anyone used this with the lomokino 35mm film camera? As they have discontinued the original handgrip and I am trying to find an alternative.

A: This will work with the Lomography LomoKino 35mm Film Camera B&H # LOK35 very well.

Q: 2. Is line-in recording from computer or xrl outlet possible? Thanks...

A: The Zoom H2N features a 3.5mm input jack that is compatible with both line or mic level signals. The line out from a computer is able to be recorded to the H4N using the proper cable. if connecting from the headphone/line out of the computer a stereo 3.5mm cable can be used.

Q: 3. Is the tripod socket on the bottom of the Zoom H2n made of METAL or PLASTIC?

A: It is fairly thick plastic. No issue because of this so far. Threading is smooth and tolerances reasonably snug.

Q: 4. Could this support a heavier camera say 10+ lbs?

A: Yes, can attach the P&C Handgrip to larger cameras. Do be careful though because attachments that connect with one mounting point are less secure. This could cause issues depending on how large the camera is.

Q: 5. Any specific recommendation for rec mode and placement for recording piano performance to camera (Nikon Z6ii)? I'm thinking WITHIN piano using XY mic facing perpendicular to keys and line output -20dB or so? Thnx much.

A: That sounds about right

Q: 6. Is this the same cable that comes with the Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless Microphone System - ME2 Lavalier Set?

A: No, its not.

Q: 7. Can this record from a mixer? I use the Behringer XENYX 1202 12-Channel Audio Mixer and want to be able to a backup of the audio during live performances.

A: Thanks to a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack input that supplies 2.5V plug-in power, the H2n can accommodate an external condenser microphone such as a clip-on lavalier for crisp, close-miked speech reproduction. Plugging in an external source to the 3.5mm jack overrides the onboard X/Y stereo mic, so no menu-based input selection is required. Since the 3.5mm input also supports line-level signal, you can route the output of a wireless microphone receiver into the H2n.

Q: 8. Can this be used to feed a line-level output from a soundboard into a mic-level input camera socket where the source signal is 30 or 40db more than what the camera needs? I am not sure which side is male vs. female. Thanks.

A: Yes. I use it to take line level from a soundboard into a mic level audio recorder. It works perfectly.

Q: 9. I would like to use a lavalier mike for syncing with my videos. Does it provide phantom power and and way of clipping the recorder to the subject so they don't have to handhold when using a lapel mike?

A: The Zoom H2n features a 1/8 input jack which is not capable of providing phantom power. 48volt Phantom requires an XLR mic connection. The unit will however provide what is called plug-in power, a small voltage (1 -10volts ) that many mics that feature a 1/8 jack require. Unfortunately there is currently no accessory available to allow the H2n to be belt worn. It may be possible however to fasten a small case to a subject such as the Porta Brace GPC-7X5 which features a handstrap.

Q: 10. Does this take micro sd or the bigger ones?

A: Classic sd card

[Gray] We used this to clear up awful feedback on a P/A system. We put this in-line with our system and the feedback is completely gone. So, for my application it was perfect.

[9 x 4.2 x 1.7"] The line I connected to was expected to be 70V but may not have been. I adjusted the potentiometer close to 20V and it is working fine.
