A: The G85 is not on DJI's compatible list for all functions with the Ronin-S. You will be able to balance a mirrorless camera like the G85 on the Ronin-S, but it may not work with the other features of the gimbal.

Q: 3. Can I power Sony a6500 with Ronin S?

A: The Ronin S has two 12v/2A four pin outlets built in to the base plate shoe. You can power anything that takes that kind of power and has an adapter cable.

Q: 4. Will it be possible to balance a GH5 with 100-400mm lens? The lens isn't particularity heavy but does extend way out in front of the camera?

A: Hey Charles. We haven't tested out this specific setup, but according to our tests, the Ronin-S can capture stabilized footage with a 5D Mk IV + EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM lens in handheld scenarios.

Q: 5. How do you connect the camera to the gimbal where the start/stop recording feature would work. Like, what cable or wireless connection is needed/included?

A: The Ronin-S comes with all the cables necessary to be compatible with the cameras on our compatibility list. More cameras will be added to this list in the near future.

A: The GH4 will work very well with the Ronin-S. DJI will also be released an optional RSS-P cable that will allow for Start/Stop Record, Capture Photo and Triggering the Auto Focus with the GH4.

Q: 8. Has anyone used the Ronin-S with a Sony XLR-K2M? It can obviously hold the weight, but will the camera slide left enough the counter the heavier right side with the XLR plugs?

A: The addition of the XLR-K2M, along with any microphones you may put on it, will alter the overall height and possibly length of the Sony Alpha camera used on the Ronin-S. It may be possible that it will balance, but this is something you will have to test out to see the results for yourself. Q: 9. Is the Ronin-S compatible with canon XC10 or Nikon D7500 or D750?

A: We have not tested the canon XC10, but upon review it doesn't seem like anything will stop it from being able to be balanced, however more testing is necessary. The Nikon D7500 and D750 can be balanced perfectly, but shutter/startstop, focus is not currently compatible. More development is being done and more cameras will be made compatible in later firmware updates.

Q: 10. Can someone explain why the manfrotto-style plate which comes with the Ronin-S is not compatible with standard Manfrotto style tripod heads and quick releases?

A: The Ronin-S plate is not compatible with most Manfrotto heads. Currently the only confirmed 3rd party plate that works in the Ronin-S is the BH# EIEH6P plate.
