[f/1.4] It’s inexpensive and I figured I give it a try.

[f/1.4] I've spent only a little time with this lens and really liking it. It's light and fairly compact (a little larger than the Sony kit 28-70 lens). Has nice bokeh. It's pretty sharp in the center. The build quality is good but not exceptional. It focusses well in most circumstances if a little noisily (I got used to the noise after a while). Generally, very pleased with the lens. Delivery was quick and no hassle.

[f/1.4] Works great, and a good price

[L-Mount] Very good lens for the price, love placement of aperture ring towards the rear of the lens, to avoid being accidentally rotated. The lens feels very solid, the hood makes a snapping sound when engaged like no other maker when hood is snapped in, get used to that. Very happy with the iq, works very well for me wide open, and renders a lower contrast image which I love while using with my Fuji's! I will definitely keep this lens. I primarily use film sims and shoot jpgs exclusively, I am extremely happy with this lens. You will not be disappointed!

[77 mm (Front)] This lens makes a lot of noise in auto focus but renders out great quality images. If you can handle manual focus it won't make any noise. On my EOS R it renders out fantastic quality images. I can do manual focus because the EOS R of course has focus peaking.

[L-Mount] The built quality on this lens is amazing. Sharpness is decent and the bokeh is also pretty good.

All in all, it is an excellent manual 50mm equivalent lens for APS-C cameras for under $159

[f/14] Yes it's plastic, and it's not quite as sharp as the Nikon 50mm 1.8, but this is only $160. The auto focus is fast and accurate, and it is still very sharp. The Nikon is maybe 10% sharper in the center but it costs almost 4X as much as this lens.

As an amateur photographer this is a no brainer, just get it.

[f/1.4] Buy it. Details below, but just buy the thing and read this after.

It’s a hundred bucks. The Fuji equivalent is four times that. It’s a fully manual lens, but that is fine with me. With Fuji, it’s all about tactility anyway! The aperture ring is very nice and not too tight, feels like it’s very well built and moves easily and with confidence. Same goes for the focus dial!

Other reviews I’ve seen for this say it’s too soft at 1.4 and really gets usable at 2.5 or whatever. This has not been my experience. At 1.4 it’s been super usable for me. You’re gonna get a really thin slice of your image in focus, but that makes for such an intimate look in whatever you choose to have in focus.

At f/16 the scene gets dark of course, but everything is sharp as a tack. This is a really fun lens to use, and it fits super super snug on my X-T30. Just an awesome product.

Cheap lenses are getting good, and good lenses are getting cheap!

[f/1.4] I bought my Fuji X-T30 with a 15-45mm kit lens, had a great time with it, then bought this lens. I figured for $80 what's the difference? And holy cow I'm glad I pulled the trigger.

The build feels top notch, the aperture ring and focus ring are super satisfying (not clicking), and the photos come out great. It's so much fun to use, too. I've seen people say it isn't usable at f/1.4, but that has not been my experience. I say for the price you seriously can't go wrong. It's absolutely worth the money!

[Autofocus] I purchased this lens to try out Meike products and I was pleasantly surprised. Keep in mind with the crop factor for APS-C, this works out to be 84mm, so it is akin to an 85mm prime lens for portraits. Overall, the build, construction, and quality are on par with an OEM lens. Bokeh is beautiful in low light, with the balls of light being rounder than I had expected out of a budget lens. The low light capability is pleasing, but as with most lenses, the sharpness increases with higher apertures. Autofocus works as well as expected. I found it to be a very capable lens, good for photos where I want to use moderate zoom capabilities, taking advantage of depth of field, higher background compression, and narrowing the subject focus to avoid wider surrounding scenery. At this price point, I don't worry about taking it with me for casual travel unlike my heavier Cine prime lenses, which are bulky and make me worry more than I should. I'm one of those impulsive buyers who buys all kinds of brands and lenses, and I'm pleased with my experiences with Meike thus far. All of these new manufacturers are really improving the marketplace for consumers. Just like Toyota and Honda were really cheap cars in the 1970s, eventually they became very reputable brands, and Meike is definitely one of those emerging brands coming to the forefront with high quality and lots of bang for the buck.
