The PP 4's auto power down feature saves energy by automatically powering the PP 4 off when not in use. Use the PP 4 to digitize your treasured vinyl collections to a PC or Mac. It features inputs for both MM (moving magnet) and MC (moving coil) types for a wide variety of phono cartridges, and there is a line input to allow for the transfer of cassette tapes. The included shielded USB cable and recording level control reduces noise and improves the analog-to-digital conversion process. The PP 4 also includes VinylStudio Lite software for ripping LPs and burning audio CDs.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this unit (PP444)come with power transfer for $13.78?

A: Yes

Q: 2. I have a Marantz TT 42 turntable that I'm trying to connect to a Mac. This Art DJ PRE II isn't getting it done. No matter what I've tried with changing settings and levels I still have hum and distortion. I've relocated the TT and the MAC to other parts of the house just to see if it might be the power grounding of the house still no help. I had a Rolls VP 29 connecting them fine but it didn't last long at all until the power connection failed. This ART DJ seems to have an issue similar to the Rolls. It also has to have the power connection just right or it crackles and hums terribly. Anyone having the same issue or having any luck connecting a Marantz TT42? With the Rolls I even used it to connect a vintage JVC QL-F61 to several surround receivers and my MAC.

A: The ART DJ Pre II Phono Preamplifier is designed to connect to a stereo receiver or amplifier- The RCA connections provide Line Level Audio, suitable for Line Level inputs only. In/Out Connections RCA Maximum Output Level + 6 dBu (1.4 Vrms) While the Gain may be adusted to reduce the output level to a very low (Mic level), it is not recommended to connect to a Mic level input, as noise, distortion and hum may / will likely be present.

Q: 3. I have a pioneer al a158 and an old solid state channel master. Will the preamp make the turntable louder?

A: Yes. Yes it will.

Q: 4. Is this pre amp compatible with both moving magnet and moving coil cartridge types?

A: This preamp is suitable for all moving magnet (or moving iron) cartridges. Moving coil cartridges come in two flavors, low output and high output. This preamp WILL work for high output MC cartridges (such as the Denon DL-110 or the Dynavector 10x5) but it will NOT work for low output moving coil cartridges (such as the Denon DL-103 or DL-30x series). If you wanted to used a low output MC with the ART unit, you'd need an extra piece of hardware called a step-up transformer (a.k.a. SUT).

Q: 5. how do I install my PP999 as it came with no instructions?

A: Connect your turntable to the PP999 inputs and connect the PP999 outputs to a line level input on your receiver or amplifier.

Q: 6. will it work with a moving coil cartridge, connected between my turntable and my integrated amplifier?

A: This product is not a good choice for a Moving Coil cartridge. You'll get a weak signal that will need to be boosted, and there will probably be a lot more noise. Moving Coil carts tend to be very high quality, so it would be a shame to use the wrong preamp and not get all of the potential quality.

Q: 7. Whats the best way to connect to a PC for making mp3's? There are no RCA jacks on my laptop.

A: The ART DeeJay Pre can be connected to a simple USB audio interface which will allow an analog source to be connected to a computer via USB. Using a unit such as the Behringer UCA 202 you can connect the 2 using a standard RCA cable. a href= http://bhpho.to/1CMSAW2 target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1CMSAW2/a

Q: 8. Can this device be used in Holland (220V)?

A: This product is designed for use in North America only - 120 VAC.

Q: 9. Is the Epson PP-011 compatible with SureThing Labeling software?

A: It is listed as compatible: https://www.surething.com/support/direct-to-disc-printers-v6/

Q: 10. Can I use it with a YOGA HT-81 to increase gain and reduce noise? Thanks

A: No; you can't. That is not what this is or what to does. This is designed for one specific purpose: it takes a low-level phono signal from a turntable, and increases the gain (by a specified, non-adjustable amount) while adding a specified (RIAA) equalization curve. What aren't you just looking at microphone preamps and mic-related products?

[Black] This product connected easily and immediately performed as advertised. You would not be able to tell a pre amp was not built into the receiver. Amazingly cost was less than $ + shipping and received next day.

[Black] An audio pre-amp is required to connect an older turntable to a home theater system. The audible boost is now at the same levels as my other sources. I may need to get another one for my ION turntable as it's output is also db's lower than my amp can handle. It's too bad we keep needing to update our systems so often as the next new thing outmode's gear we've all spent considerable money and time investing in. From 4 &8 tracks tapes, reel to reel recorders, cassettes, video camera's and tapes, VHS recorders, and now CD's it would be better if they had all been marketed with a warning that they won't be anything more than an expensive fad for a short time, then will be extremely difficult to repair or replace nor enhance. BH seems to be the last bastion for those of us unwilling to just toss hundreds or thousands of dollars of outmoded gear in the trash bin because customer service was only a concept to be shunned after the sale is completed. May you stay in business for a long time to come.

[Black] After my stereo receiver died, I needed a way to play my old vinyl music. I got this preamp to connect my turntable to my PA System! So now it's nice and loud, and full sounding. Note: You still will need to ground your turntable to your audio power chassis, or you'll hear hum. Remedy: Wire audio ground wire (not power ground) up to a screw on the back of your audio system.

[Black] This is a great preamplifier for anyone that is looking not to spend a lot to add a preamplifier to their system that does not have a phono input. Its very simple to set up just add second pair of RCA connection wires plug them into your amp or receiver, plug in your turntable and you are ready to enjoy the magnificent world of vinyl.
B&P is a great company to do business with. I received my purchase before the estimated delivery date. It was well packaged to protect it.

B&h had the best price and received it 2 days before promised. Always a pleasure dealing with B&H. Thank you for bringing my memories back. B&h and Plye are a winning combination for sure. Have to go now and flip my Grateful Dead album to side b.Ha!
