The Cable Techniques Bud II Battery Distribution Kitfrom Cable Techniques Bud II Battery Distribution Kitis a lightweight and portable DC power distribution box that allows you to power multiple devices from a single battery or power source. The Battery Bud II accepts 12-18VDC power and uses standard 4-pin Hirose connectors. It offers a single power input and 5 outputs, all of which are on the bottom of the unit for seamless bag integration. An internal 6A electronic auto-resetting breaker prevents damage due to overload. A recessed power switch makes it easy to have a "master" switch for your whole bag of gear. The Battery Bud II has a lightweight metal construction with a removable belt clip and a durable powder coat finish.

Q: 3. Does this unit regulate power? I want to use this with a V-mount battery, but concerned about sending too much voltage to my MixPre-6 (original version). I can't find any power voltage specs in the MixPre owner manuals.

A: Yes, the Cable Techniques MX-POWERSLED for Sound Devices MixPre-3 And MixPre-6 sends a regulated 7.2V DC power input to the MixPre and accepts a 9-24V DC input range from external sources.

Q: 4. Can this BUD plate be horizontally lifted rather than slidded off the BUD dovetail?

A: The Bright Tangerine Universal BUD Plate slides off the dovetail. To release the camera, unlock the lever, slide the camera to the end of the dovetail, and press the safety button to release it from the dovetail.

Q: 5. If the MX-Powersled is attached to a Mixpre 6, will it still fit in the K-Tek Stingray bag made for the Mixpre? Or, do you need to jump up in bag size to the K-Tek Junior?

Q: 9. I have a PSC NP-1 Battery Cup with a 4-pin Hirose Connector that I use to power my SD 633 and F8n Mixer. I was told that battery cup was specifically designed to work with the PSC Power Star Mini Distribution System. Would it be able to work with the RA BDSv4U as well? Or would I need to buy a battery cup with specifically from Remote Audio? Not sure if the two products had to be uniformly from the same company?

[12-18VDC] This is a great little power distro box. I use it with a Nomad 6 mixer, and a Lectro Quadbox. I power it with an Anton/Bauer Dionic 90 battery. It has a clip that hooks to your mixer bag. It does what it's supposed to! The on/off button connects to all of the outputs-no pass-through. 5

[12-18VDC] Having owned the original Battery Bud for five years, I was glad they came out with the 5 outlet model. I currently run 3 Lectro 411s and 1 lectro Sr5BP receiver and 2 Lectro SMQV transmitters for hops, plus my 664 off of this. The money I save in AA lithiums from the hops will definitely more than pay for the BAtt Bud 2. The design and construction are well thought out for Location Sound Recordists who work out of a bag. It takes up minimum landscape in the bag. The mini Hirose connectors are rock solid. I have never had one pop off on me. But what do you expect from a Field Audio Genius like Peter Engh (Man behind Batt Bud)! . Whether you are starting out and building your kit or an experienced field sound mixer this power distro is worth purchasing. In our line of work, you literally get what you pay for! 5
