[99.2°] Solid; beautiful wide angle results. Great for architectural shots. Remember it is bigger and heavier to accommodate the lens.

[99.2°] I didn't buy this lens for its quality optics or its sexy looks, I bought it for a creative project I'm shooting in black-and-white square format. The 1:1 crop factor moots any minor issues with edge sharpness and vignetting. The pancake design makes it easy to carry around and unobtrusive in public places. Manual focus is required, but practically everything is in focus when set to infinity. I'm using it paired with my Fujifilm X-T5 and the results are stunning. The absurdity of putting a $90 lens on a $1,700 camera and making art is very satisfying, indeed!

[58 mm (Front)] It's small, features a hot shoe mount, and testing it against 3 other light meters I trust it very well calibrated out of the box. BTW charging time with a 2 amp wall wart via USB-C is about 40 minutes. However you will want to put on some readers and actually read the instruction manual because the controls are not intuitive.

[L-Mount] Very sharp, contrasty, edge sharpness excellent. I like the zoom range and lens does not weigh too much.

[58 mm (Front)] Sharp, very little vignetting, simple to use, and Fun! Set camera to shoot without lens & Aperture Priority. Focus (use visual focus aid if you want), use auto ISO or manual ISO. I use the AstrHori 27mm f2.8 on a Fuji X-A1. I view the pictures via HDMI on a large screen TV.
Use the above settings, and you can easily concentrate on the Subject & the Composition. Set aspect to 3:1, or to 1:1 for Fun!

[Manual Focus] I took this out recently mounted on my Oly EM-1 II for several hours of street photography and am delighted with the results.  I chose this one over the Oly 7-14 since the Leica accepts screw-in filters to use for my landscape photography, and am very satisfied that I made the best choice.

[Full-Frame] Works very well for getting into tight spaces. The lens is fairly sharp - not the sharpest, but offers good value in terms of probe lenses.


F40 requires a ton of light. You'll also want a motorized rig of sorts for any movement as the macro lens is very sensitive to small bumps.


All in all - good value compared to the Laowa. Only down side is it an APS-C lens, so you'll get some crop when on a full frame lens.

[f/8] I bought this lens after reading mulitple reviews from several sources, often comparing the other similar offerings from Panasonic and Olympus. One point I would emphasize is this lens is not light or small� but is much lighter than the Oly 7-14m f2.8 and a little smaller.

I would not want a lens weighing over a pound. Both are expensive, currently similarly priced over $1000.�

i am just starting to shoot with the lens and I find it amazing how close you must stand to objects like a car or golf cart to fill the frame when shooting at 8 mm. What got me attracted to this kind of ultra wide zoom is the power of shooting scenes with very close in objects in the foreground in focus ...not much opportunity yet to do that but I know this lens will do it well.....

It seems to do starbursts quite well ( seven aperture blades which result in 14 rays). Occasional lens flare but not bad, I have included two photos. The first is at 8mm, second one zoomed in to about 15mm as I recall.....if you can afford it this is a great lens

[f/8] This was love at first sight. A fantastic lens that solves my tasks. If I were to describe how lenses work, I can only say: turn ordinary binoculars and look through them. Shows a wide-angle picture with options for taking Micro pictures.
