The MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base from Manfrotto is designed with a wide platform, optimal for HDSLR camera bodies. Smooth and precise, it has a maximum load capacity of 17.6 lb and professional quality fluid cartridges on both its pan and tilt axes. It has a pre-set spring-loaded counterbalance of 5.3 lb, its lateral tilt range is -70°/+90° and it provides 360° panning rotation.

The side lock system on the MVH500AH allows the camera and sliding QR plate to click quickly into the head from above, instead of needing to be aligned and slid in from the back. This makes it easier and safer to mount your camera on this head. The head attaches to a tripod via a 3/8"-16 thread and includes a 500PLONG sliding balance plate with a captive 1/4"-20 tie-down screw and a 3/8"-16 adapter bushing. It also provides an Easy Link 3/8" connector on the side of the head to attach accessories such as a video monitor.

The MVH500AH is made from aluminum alloy, measures 3.74" high and provides a bubble level and precision control handle.

A: Yes!!! I recommend it 100%! It's very professional and clean and it's amazing quality. The fluid head is legit. I use it with my Nikon 5200 with my 18-55mm lens and it works great!

Q: 3. Will the tripod legs extend out horizontally? Looking to get the base all the way down to the ground for low angle shots.

A: I can get the legs out so they sit almost completely flat on the ground--perhaps 1 or 2 degrees above 90 degrees, with the center column then bringing the top of the head plate to 16.5 above the ground.

Q: 4. when i buy this tripod do i need any other parts to mount the camera on?

A: You will not. This tripod comes with the quick release plate to mount a camera to it.

Q: 5. Could I use the head on a slider?

A: Yes. I use mine for that.

Q: 6. It's highest height is only 5' 4 ?

A: it is 54.7 inches (4ft 6.7 inches) with the column down and 64.6 inches (5 ft 4.6 inches with the column extended) this is just the tripod. The head adds 3.74 inches.

Q: 7. Is this tripod and head is good to support a Celestron Regal M2 100ED?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto MT190X3 can hold up to 11lb. The Celestron Regal M2 100ED weighs 73.5oz.

A: The Manfrotto kit comes with two parts. The Manfrotto 500 head weight is 2 pounds. And the legs are 4.3 lb. The total weight of both head and legs would be 6.3 pounds.

Q: 9. Can the head be removed to be replaced by the Edelkrone sliderPlus medium and then be used on top of the slider?

A: The MVH500AH head on this tripod is removable. You could take the head off and from there mount an Edelkrone SliderPlus on the tripod and the head on top of the slider.

Q: 10. Can somebody tell me which bar handle fits to this. I need extra one?

[Fluid Head] Got this piece to match the manfrotto monopod. Go this one so I could also use it on tripods and not just the monopod (because there is a version for monopod attached, doesnt come off). [3.565 lb] Light, compact and seems ready to go. The fluid head seems to be a great combination for this tripod. The only piece of the puzzle missing is an appropriately sized carrying bag to hold the tripod and fluid head- the bag that came with the tripod is a bit bigger than necessary. 5

[+90° to -70°] I have been using this head for years. With the 190 or 055 tripod it folds down to 28 inches, which fits in my flight cases. They have traveled the world with my crew. 5

[Yes] I purchased this tripod and video head primarily because I am visiting India (about 10 cities) and need to take tonnes of photographs and videos. This tripod is light enough to be carried around and stable plus solid enough to last with me for the next 10 years that is value for money for me. Little disappointed by the case as it is mainly for storage and not for travel. I would really love if B&H would have added the tripod strap as well so that I could hike easily with this tripod. 5

[Fluid Head] The tripod is awesome; it has all you need. It has a ball head, but you don't lose the center column, which usually is not possible with other traditional ball head tripods. That is a huge advantage compared to a regular ball head tripod. Compared with a regular center column non-ball head tripod, it is even better because, as you know, the ball head helps you a lot in setting up the tripod straight in just seconds and easily, in contrast to having to unlock and lock the legs until you get it right. Much pain! Seriously, this is a no-brainer combo: the best affordable carbon fiber legs with a nice video fluid head. Make the investment; it will totally make the difference. Light tripod, sturdy, easy to balance, and it comes with a case. I will never get another tripod with no case; that helps a lot. BTW, I bought three of these. See ya! [Fluid Head] I have had several tripods over the years and this one is among the best of them. It is a lot lighter than I though it would be and the flexibility of this one really impressive. The fluid head works just as expected. It has an adjustable tension setting for the weight of the camera which is nice. I added the Manfrotto MOVE quick release system and LOVE it. 5
