Q: 8. How does this handle being checked on a plane? Should extra protection to the wheels be given when checking it in?

A: I've checked it in four times an all the times we taped down the handle bars. Three times it was fine. And the fourth, one of the tabs that holds the handle bar got really bent and I had to use a crowbar to fix it. If it continued at that pace, I would think it would survive about 4 more beatings or a total of 20 trips. But you're really at the mercy of the handlers. If you do travel, I would put fragile stickers on it and wrapping the whole thing in plastic wrap.

[47.2 lb] So, I was considering dragging around thousands of dollars in equipment on a mover's dolly and when I tried to load it all up, it all tumbled down. I was fortunate that it was a lot of stands and umbrellas but, I learned a valuable lesson without losing thousands of dollars in lens damage or camera damage.

This is a clear case of you get what you pay for. I immediately started looking for a quality folding cart that had large tires and was simple to assemble/disassemble. The Gator 52 met all of my criteria and even has an optional slip-on bag that can slide down the main handle and has valuable storage pockets and space to keep quick access accessories. Well worth the price in my opinion. One dropped lens and you will regret not having purchased the better cart for your equipment.

[Steel] Got it on a Daily Deal for $160 !! Whoa... was I LUCKY because this is the cart build that you should be willing to pay full price for!!
The height of the two push bars are absolutely PERFECT... and the best asset for me was the Step Bar use to release/Unlock and lock the push bars!!! No more leaning down and using your hand to shove the plastic covered threaded cable like I do the two Rock n Roller brand carts I own. That other leading brand of carts are well build too... but for the price, functionality, build quality, and ergonomics, Gator is by far the winning cart brand for me.
I use it for video production and I tote two Apurture 600D's, three Sachtler camera bags, modifiers, two 24" Osee monitor cases, quite a few LED lighting cases and midsized accessory bags. It has PLENTY of space, and the wheels handle those effortlessly. I'm a huge fan and it suits my needs to where I use the other carts to handle the other gear as B and C carts (audio gear, grip equipment, electrical) Hahaha. Gator for the win!! - Brian A.

[47.2 lb] This is a beast . I had 4 speakers, mixer , tv with stand and my DJ controller, lights etc. All in cases. I went across the dirt then the grass only using one hand to maneuver it . It's worth it

[Steel] Bought one about a year ago to help roll cases of gear through the airport when I travel. This thing has taken a beating during this time and has lost pieces due to how nicely airlines handle it. But she's still going strong and if for some reason she broke tomorrow, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Pro tip: I'd definitely recommend Gaff taping the handle down so it doesn't open up when checked.

[Steel] Bought this to replace another utility cart my partner made off with…and I’m so glad I did! Better in every way than the old cart. Bought the deck surface for it, which makes it so much more versatile. Highly recommended.

[47.2 lb] I saw it on sale and I printed it out to think on it for a few days. After all it's not a 69 dollar kind at Lowes. After talking it over with hubby I hit the buy button. Once it arrived and saw how well it was built I felt foolish in waiting. We used it just the other day to move a ladder from the from of the front of the house to the back. Hubby has a bum leg. Then piled on the bags of mulch from the car to the back of the house in one trip. It does save on you back.

[36 x 19 x 11"] I bought this cart for the wheel size. Getting over cracks and curbs is a necessary aspect of entering and exiting facilities. I have photo equipment to transport but more importantly I have a Microscope Repair service with a large number of parts cases and tool chests to be moved into and out of schools with elevators and veterinarian offices. Being able to make fewer trips as well as navigate through the halls and elevators is a major aim for my owning this cart.
One notable issue is that it only locks the carrying bed in two positions. For my needs one or two additional mid-range positions would make it easier not to be too long for an elevator or too short to get the needed equipment in or out with less trips.
I like it but I am modifying it to fit my needs and circumstances better.

[36 x 19 x 11"] I needed something to carry my equipment for weddings and corporate shoots. This held all of my stuff and didn't have any issues. I like that it can expand out. I wish the legs would turn in, as it would store even better in my vehicle, but I can manage. Do it, it will save you time, and save your back.

[36 x 19 x 11"] Well built. MASSIVELY prefer the metal pedal for releasing the vertical rails over the weird pull-string system other brands have. Easy to put together and light weight.
