The DR-EDID2 Emulator from FSR is a unique, self-powered, bidirectional device that can be integrated at either end of any HDMI system as an EDID manager/learner. Engineered to manipulate the EDID information provided to a connected HDMI source or any device earlier in the HDMI chain, the DR-EDID2 can now learn and store up to three EDID tables from any display, and the hot-pluggable device supports resolutions up to UHD 4K60 with HDCP 1.4/2.2 compatibility.

EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) includes essential details about the display's capabilities, such as supported audio and video formats and available features. The DR-EDID2 enables installers to either substitute one of the five preset EDID files or to learn, store, and recall up to three EDID files from any display device through a quick and straightforward process in the field. This feature makes the DR-EDID2 an invaluable tool for troubleshooting system issues like unstable images or complete image loss due to excessive cable length. When permanently installed, the DR-EDID2 forces the source to limit its output resolution, reducing the required bandwidth of the cabling infrastructure and thus ensuring reliable operation.

[0.075 lb] I was having HDMI handshake issues with my Samsung TV, Xfinity X1 Box and my Yamaha receiver. I had to turn everything on several times to get all components to work properly. I hooked up the HD Fury in between the cable box and TV and it works perfect each time. This is a great device.

[HDMI: 2-Channel] This came in fairly minimal packaging. All I had to do was open the cardboard box and pick it out.

I plugged it in between my television and the computer and let it record the EDID, then I plugged it between the computer and the capture card. The Blackmagic capture card which had stymied so many of my attempts to capture a 1080p signal started working the way I wanted it to after inserting this EDID emulator into the chain.

The rotary dial, by the way, was fairly resistant to accidental nudges. IT took a bit of effort to get the dial to change its position.

[1x HDMI (2.0)] I had a Roku3 EDID handshake problem. My Roku3 would work with my 15 inch Coby flat panel TV, but NOT with my Samsung Smart TVs, very frustrating. However, the Samsung would play from a DVD player and from a Chromcast device, so I knew it worked ok. I used the Gefen to capture the EDID handshake from the Roku3 to Coby TV connection that worked. Then switched the Gefen to playback and put it between the Samsung Smart TV and the Roku3. Worked great! I suspect the Roku3 to Samsung TV EDID handshake has a timing problem but the Gefen fixes that. A little pricey but I wanted to get to the root of the problem.

[Manual Control] This worked fine for end devices that don't report audio to the source. Be aware that using active cables and this device on a MAC, the mac cannot supply enough power for both. In active cable and this device is no problem

[0.075 lb] This is the exact unit we needed. We had a MacBook pro connecting to an inexpensive 4x2 matrix. One output to a Samsung TV. One output to a BenQ projector. It would not give us a clear signal at the projector, if it gave us a signal at all. With this unit, we were able to fake the laptop into believing it was only connected to the BenQ projector. Problem solved! Worked like a charm. Highly recommended!

[0.075 lb] This is an excellent little box. It's well built and does exactly what the manufacturer says it does. Setup was a breeze. The manual can be confusing but it basically reads/duplicates/changes and EDID HDMI/DVI signal. Why do you need this? Simple...If your monitor/TV is not talking to your input device properly for whatever reason, this will take care of that. You can select resolutions, color options on the fly and pass through sound as well. Why did I use this? I was trying to connect a PC output to an HDMI monitor of obscure resolution. I was greeted with a blank screen. I did some research and it turned out the Intel drivers do not support said resolution...so HDMI handshake was happening but that was about it. All I had to do is connect this box between the monitor and the PC and set it to a resolution that the Intel drivers understood...and voila...problem solved. The box continuously broadcasts the EDID signal so the computer thinks it's always connected. Perfect.
