[0.22 lb] Tilta's camera cages continue to meet all my needs for the ways I want to build and customize my cameras meanwhile continuing to improve them as new designs come out. Very light weight, durable, and the ergonomics just work they way I prefer. Only thing I wish tilta implemented into their cages at this point is a 3/8-16 thread for mounting heavier builds to a tripod and to prevent twists, but they do have 2 1/4-20 threads at the bottom. That's just me wishing I didn't have to change what screw sizes I have in my tripod plates.

This cage is very rugged and is great quality. I love how it comes with the lens support as well as the cable clamp!


The camera is very comfortable to hold in the hand with the cage attached and the cage does not shift or move around at all. I can't wait for these to come back in stock so I can purchase another one.

I'm contemplating getting the Tilta cage for our C70 as well as the Smallrig cage I purchased is just not cutting it.

[Black] When the original GoPros first came out, I remember watching a video of someone shooting it with a rifle and blowing up cans of paint with the camera only a foot or so away from the explosion. GoPro cameras have a 'bomb-proof' reputation. Even with GoPro making the cameras waterproof without the plastic casing, I couldn't imagine ever needing a cage for one of these.


That was until I was tasked with capturing video of a large crane unloading several tons of rocks off river barges. I needed much more than just a plastic case if I wanted to mount this on the bucket of the crane. My bare minimum needs were a secure way to attach ND filters, a way to mount a safety chain to the camera and a much more reliable way to mount the camera than the flimsy plastic folding teeth that comes stock on the GoPro. This cage has it all.


PROS: VERY easy to assemble & disassemble, - the hinges lock securely and are easy to open, 1/4-20 screw holes (I screwed a 1/4-20 eye bolt to attach safety chain), fits GoPro Hero 9, full view of both front & rear screen, allows you to add the accessory to screw-in 52mm filters, and the cage battery door comes with a small magnetic adapter that allows you to use the camera with either the water-proof door attached, or detached so you can run the camera off AC or quickly charge it without removing the cage or cage door, with handy USB-C charge port.


CONS: Metal is much less forgiving than plastic - you have to CRANK down the GoPro screws to get the camera to not move. I highly recommend metal GoPro screws and a metal tool to tighten it.


Not necessarily a con for this, but the filter adapter screws into the cage - so the camera is trapped until you unscrew two small allen-head bolts.

[Black] This is the perfect cage for the Canon R5C. What I love the most is how sturdy the handle is once it's mounted. The cage also has tons of mounting points and feels sturdy. I think it's worth it if you want to rig your R5C out for video.

[0.22 lb] The only hiccup I had was the HDMI clamp attachment, which is included with this bundle, did not allow my cable to fit through the clamp opening for the type c port. I had to remove the clamp in order to use my Type C charging cable to power the camera externally. Not a huge deal but would be nice to be able to use the clamp with my cable. The opening through the clamp isn't large enough and the adjustment screws did not allow it to open but so far.

The cage itself with the handle is machined to top tolerances. I trust this thing with thousands of dollars worth of camera gear. I love that I'm able to leave the cage on and still be able to use a gimbal and also some of my Edelkrone gear such as the headplus. Just have to remove the top handle when using most of the Edelkrone kit. Other than that, this cage is a huge win over anything else out there for the R5C. I would absolutely buy this again. For the money it's a no brainer as it also adds some protection to the outer portion of the camera body.

[Black] This cage adds necessary 1/4 threads to your gopro, still no idea why gopro doesn’t come with them from the factory.. some additional protection (not the lense). Only thing that might bother someone are the “release switches” for the camera it self and the battery door, they seem to be a little flimsy. Other than that, Looks great and serves the purpose.
