The angled-viewing Endeavor HD 15-45x65 Spotting Scope from Vanguard combines a nitrogen-filled magnesium housing and a fully multi-coated optical path to create a well-equipped zoom optic for intermediate- to long-range observation. Vanguard gave the Endeavor HD series an extra-low dispersion (ED) lens system and phase-corrected BAK4 prisms, which maximize light transmission and produce color-faithful images that are rich with contrast.

This version of the Endeavor HD spotting scope includes a 15-45x zoom eyepiece featuring a rubber zoom dial. A 1:3 zoom ratio and 2.7-1.3° angle of view complement the eyepiece's long 19mm eye relief and rubber eyecup, which help to provide additional viewing comfort for long-duration observations.

In addition to the image quality and weather-sealed construction, the Endeavor HD includes several features that enhance the scope's functionality. A stacked dual-focus mechanism enables the observer to make fine- and coarse-focus adjustments. The tripod mounting foot has a standard 1/4"-20 socket and is compatible with Vanguard tripods that accept the universal mounting shoe. An integrated sunshade and included custom-fit raincoat carrying case help to make the Endeavor HD a full-featured spotting scope for outdoor use.

A: Most likely. We use a Novograde camera adaptor to digiscope with an iPhone. Vanguard states in their users guide that they sell an adaptor kit for DSLRs for digiscoping with their Endeavor HD scopes: PA-202, including two adaptor sizes, 58mm & 52mm. I would assume it would serve major DSLR brands like the Nikon D series.

[65 mm] Spectacular scope for its price point. I had been using a B&L Discover scope for decades before purchasing this scope. This scope easily triples my binocular range for bird-watching. 5

[65 mm] This scope offers a lot of features and quality for the bucks. The optics are clear and sharp, and the scope is solidly constructed. It's too bad Vanguard doesn't offer a prime eyepiece, such as a 30x, but the supplied zoom eyepiece is still quite good. Beyond 40x the image softens noticeably, although that's typical for most moderately priced scopes. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I found the focusing mechanism to be extremely smooth with just the right amount of resistance. The cover fits a bit snugly but it also provides excellent protection. I've been using the scope to observe birds and other wildlife as well as for casual astronomy. 5

[Angled] I am very happy with this purchase. The optics are very clear. I have a friend that has a spotting scope that costed 3x this much. I would recommend checking this one before spending the extra money on those far more expensive units. 5

[19.0 to 20.0 mm] Used my scope out at the range at 100yds. No problem at this distance in seeing holes from my 308. I ended up having to scope for the chap next to me. Next day was the real test, at 215yds. In the rough we set up targets and ounce again no problem. I'm truly happy with everything from dealing with B&H and talking to Vanguard for helping me choose this scope. 5

[4.37 lb] This is an upgrade from a Cabela's Pine Ridge scope I've used for nearly 20 years. I assume most people looking at this scope are looking to upgrade, not Swavorski users. I use this scope for birding watching with a Manfroto tripod. Pros: Coarse/fine focus. I really like the fine focus nob. Makes it really easy to dial in on exactly the bird you want. Clarity. The ED glass and 82mm objective give sharp, clear images. Nice big eyepiece as well, works good with glasses. Solid. This scope feels like a high-precision piece of equipment. Cons: Weight. Coupled with an aluminum Manfrotto tripod, it is heavy. As I said in my tripod review, this can be a plus when you are standing in the wind looking at ducks and shorebirds. But it is a bit of a chore to carry. I think I've worked out a good strap system that should help. So far, very pleased with the scope. The bag seems good, have not tried that in the field yet, with rain moving in this week, it will soon get a workout I'm sure. Expecting this scope to last me a good 20 years plus. 5

[Angled] The glass is VERY clear! Solid construction and I am very pleased I compared this in low light to the Viper HD and I could not find any difference. You can see the rings of Saturn and this is the best scope for for the price and beats many of higher price points too. 5

[15 to 45x] I love this scope. I was looking for a decent first scope for me at a good price and this is the scope I saw everywhere. It has a really good image. More distortion as you get closer to 60 power. 5

[4.37 lb] Bought the Vanguard Endeavor Spotting Scope to use at the range. Watched my father buy a slightly less expensive scope and learned from his mistake. If you can afford it, you should spend the extra money to buy at least this level of a scope. Anything else below in price is a waste of your money. The price is not the cheapest nor the most expensive. It is a great scope within reach worth the cost. Clear low distortion glass and quality constructed. You will find youself feeling like you made one of the better decisons in life with this purchase. That's not bad considering how unpredictable life can be. Completly satisfied! 5
