[20x] After reviewing various makes and models, I was very satisfied with purchasing the 8X42 EDX from Frontier. The ergonomics of the product was engineered for its practical use for comfort, convenience and size for my personal use. For the price range, the quality of the components are 2nd to none in my estimate. Upon viewing, the clarity, brightness, sharp focus, and minimal distortion are fantastic! I hope to use it for many years to come.

These Hawkes' just exude quality!
I have a pair of very high priced 10 x 50 binos from another manufacturer and the bright clear image of these 10 x 42 Hawkes' just puts the other to shame. They snap into focus and have a superb dept of field that doesn't require constant refocusing.
Everything is well thought out including the well designed carrying case.
These have proven to be a worth while purchase.

[20x] I thought that I would leave a review for these binoculars after having had them for 4 years. I've been extraordinarily happy with these binoculars. Optically, they are fantastic. They are very sharp across the majority of the field of view. There is no chromatic aberration that I notice at all. There is a very small barrel distortion, but it doesn't detract from the experience. I only notice it when looking at something that has a grid pattern. As some of the other reviews have noted, there is some internal reflection that happens if your eyes aren't perfectly aligned, but again, it doesn't detract from the use. The focus is very smooth and quick and the ergonomics are great.

The reason I'm writing this review now is that after 4 years, I unfortunately dropped the binoculars while carrying too much stuff out to my car. They were in the case, but one of the lenses or mirrors got bumped out of alignment. It was time to test the lifetime no-questions asked warranty. I went through their process and emailed them right away. I received an RMA the morning of the next business day. I sent in the binoculars as instructed and got a message immediately when Hawke received them. They predicted a resolution within 15 business days, but today (6 business days later), I got a notification that they will be sending me a new pair free of charge!

This price range of binoculars is quite crowded, but from everything I've read and experienced first hand, these binoculars are optically on par or better than the other choices. But the lifetime warranty really sets them apart. Many binoculars have long warranties, but they are typically limited to manufacturer defects and not accidental damage. I'm very happy to be getting a free brand new pair of binoculars instead of having to shell out hundreds again! I can't wait to get my new pair and get back on the trails!

[70 mm] When I received these binoculars, I was amazed at how compact and light they were. I was even more amazed by their optical quality, even under poor lighting. They are very sharp across the whole field of view, image contrast and colour are excellent, no visible chromatic aberration and ergonomically are a joy to use .
The included semi hard case and strap are also good quality.
I was considering buying the 8x42 version which gets excellent reviews but decided on the more compact 8x32 version after reading the following reviews

The B&H web site incorrectly lists these as having a Lightweight Polycarbonate Chassis but Customer Service confirmed with Hawke Optics that they are in fact a Magnesium Alloy Chassis.

Order processing by B&H and shipping time to Australia was excellent.
