The ASUS BW-16D1HT 16X Blu-ray Disc Rewriterfrom ASUS BW-16D1HT 16X Blu-ray Disc Rewriterfeatures an enhanced 16X Blu-ray disc writing speed. This ensures you can burn data to Blu-ray discs quickly and efficiently. Additionally, you can also take advantage of 16X DVD write speeds and 48X CD write speeds. Accompanying enhanced data write speeds, you can read data from BD-R discs at speeds of 12X, DVD-R discs at speeds of 16X, and CD-R discs at speeds of 48X.

This ASUS Blu-ray Disc Writer is also compatible with M-Disc optical media allowing you to etch your data into these discs for long term storage. If you intend on storing a large amount of data you can utilize BDXL optical media to store up to 128GB of data on a single disc. [Yes] Just upgraded my old dvd writer into a blu-ray writer since these are a lot more affordable now. Definitely a easy swap into my desktop PC and it saves on power since it'll be in use if you pop in a disc to read/play/copy. CD copying speeds are a lot faster than my old lite-on dvd writer so I'm pretty happy on my purchase! 5

[Tray] No problems. Burned about 12 BluRays with Sony Architect Pro 6.0. They played in my Samsung BluRay player just fine. Looks great. I have never made BluRays before. I burned a movie created with Corel VideoStudio Pro 9. 5

[Yes] Works well with MakeMKV out of the box. The software does comment about offical firmware and such. But, ripping my dvds and blurays is now working with this drive. I am running firmware 3.10, and it does work. Not in libredrive mode, but it does work out of the box. 5

[1.81 lb] Less then $100 and I can transfer my home movies to disc as well as listen to Billy Joel on CD while doing stuff like this. I refuse to pay for streaming services as I am retired and no longer commuting. I use my S21 as a phone period. (needed 5g when my perfectly good 3g LG could no longer access the tower) I totally get that young people rarely use a cd player, but they are on the move and streaming works for them. This is in my desk top which is not really portable in the first place :) and I have LOTS of CD's dating back to Old Blue Eyes. Bottom line: It works as intended and less then $100. 5

[Yes] I bought this Blu-Ray drive to replace an ASUS DRW-24B1ST Internal SATA 16X DVD Disc Rewriter which had failed after five years of use (the tray open and close mechanism was failing). And I wanted to play Blu-Ray discs. I sought the advice of a B&H employee via online chat and bought this unit because it had an identical form factor. The installation was easy, simply plugging it into the computer slot with the same cables. I did not realize that the drive did not come with software to play Blu-Ray discs. I bought a copy of Cyberlink PowerDVD 22 Ultra for that purpose. The new drive plays both CDs and Blu-Ray discs. So far, it works perfectly. 5
