For professional video applications, the Sirui SVH15 75mm Fluid Head Sideload Mechanismfrom Sirui SVH15 75mm Fluid Head Sideload Mechanismfeatures a 75mm ball base for use on compatible tripod legs or other accessories such as sliders and jibs. Fluid damping adjustment can be applied continuously for frictionless movement, and an adjustable 7+0 step counterbalance can compensate for cameras weighing from 8.8 lb at the most extreme angles, up to 33 lb when horizontal. The SVH15 pan/tilt movement is controlled with dual rosette-mounted pan handles, and it features a -70/+90° range.

The side-loading camera platform secures the camera plate with dual locks, preventing the camera from accidentally falling off the head during adjustment. To save time when balancing your camera, the platform is etched with calibrated measurements. The side-loading plate features padding on top and 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera mounting screws. Durable aluminum construction provides durability while maintaining a manageable weight.

The reason for the minimum weight of 8 lbs is due to the counter balance that is built into the fluid head, which is equal to 8 lbs. The counter balance may make using lighter camera loads difficult as they will not weigh enough to counter act the counter balance.

[Fluid Head] I have been working in the movie industry for a very long time and used various fluid heads. Sachtler is my favorite by far. I finally bought one for myself. The quality is just amazing, super smooth movement and built rock solid. The quick adjustment to level it out is pretty neat. I do like it, but its not a game changer. Being able to take the whole camera with head out and put it on a different tripod is pretty amazing, though. I'm using it mostly with a larger mirrorless camera. It can handle even larger lenses easily. 5

[9.5 lb] Using this with a heavy Ursa broadcast setup at around 22 pounds and have had good results. Very smooth. Counterbalance is almost perfect. I wish the pan drag could go a little stiffer, but its not really a problem. 5

[Fluid Head] In my opinion the Sachtler aktiv14T Touch & Go Fluid Head with SpeedLevel & 7-Step Drag (100mm) is the best in its class. You can't get a better fluid head for the money! 5

[Yes] I'm currently running an FS7 with V mount batteries, external 5 monitor, Zacuto VCT plate+shoulder plate. Lenses are often at the long & heavy end. This head can handle that setup no problem. For general everyday shooting it will cover all my bases. From my days working in broadcast I grew to like a lot of friction in the head, and it would be nice to have a little more in the tilt axis for long lens work (e.g. surfing), but it's nice to stay with a 75mm system for genearl everyday use. The head is also lighter than the Manfrotto 504HD I used previously. The prism spirit level is GREAT as someone vertically challenged. I also like that the tie down bolt can be removed, leaving a flat base for mounting on a slider. I originally wished they made a touch & go version of this head but now have grown to like the advantages of the the Sideload. Mainly that there is much more adjustment range available forward and back. What would have been nice is if two camera plates were included. The price to buy Sachtler's plates individually is nearly 5% the price of this head - which I think is over the top. Thankfully standard Manfrotto style plates are compatible however I would only trust the Sachtler plate on a heavy/expensive rig. 5

[Yes] This is an amazing product. I have so many doubts regarding the tightness of the leveling before but after trying out is way better than what I expect. Very reliable fluid head and really build for speed. Packaging could be better to give a slightly better experience since it is so expensive already . Otherwise I feel this fluid head is highly recommended. Thank you B&H and DHL for the fast delivery. 5

[Fluid Head] Chose this over the Aktiv series because there's virtually no chance of failing with the traditional tie down system. Yes, it may be very slightly slower to level than Aktiv heads and the flowtech legs won't be able to go as low because of the tie down knob, but I would sacrifice those limitations in exchange for reliability and versatility when mounting on different sticks or dolly. Wish Sachtler sell the flowtech legs with FSB series as a bundle too and not just with the Aktiv series. 5
