A: Yes, the Merit Series M-8Dx would be a good choice for use with a hi-fi system for power distribution. The added RFI and EMI filtering is going to protect against noise transmitted to the devices from the AC source. Please note this is not a regulator, so it will not auto-regulate the voltage to maintain optimal performance from the amplifier, which can also be a source of noise in an audio system. The most optimal setup for Hi-Fi would be to use a voltage regulator unit like the Furman M-8x AR in conjunction with a unit like the M-8Dx.

[16 A] So I've read many articles and seen the videos about AC filters and wires so I knew something was going to happen to improve the AC signal going into my gear and that there would be an improvement in my instruments sound. But how much? Yeah I could hear the difference in my modest house in the burbs. If there was that much improvement in the fairly clean A/C power in the burbs then I'll be very pleased when at a venue and I get the same sound improvements there with much dirtier power going into it. Now I've also read the negative reviews of these types of filters. I'll say this....you have to have some discerning ears and some dirty power to hear the improvements with this unit. If your neighborhood has clean power you might not hear any improvement. But when at a gig and there is less than ideal (dirty) power you'll be very thankful. 5

[16 A] Sleek no frills unit. Single power / reset on the front. 8 Plugs on the rear with plenty of space for 4 wall-warts and 4 single plugs, total 8. Not much more to say other than it works...and a good price. Me and ART go back to the late 80's...I have other ART products in my home VO studio as well...all still going strong. 5

[240 VAC] This unit powers, conditions, and protects all my equipment. The fact that there are 8 rear a/c inputs and 1 front convenience a/c outlet is a five star also! As for anything not so great about it, no negative comments from me. 5

[16 A] Radial has been my go to not only for DI boxes but for converting any signal to another. So why not try this??? Super solid like all Radial gear. LONG power cord to reach where it needs to. Loads of receptacles for my studio rack. Perfect!!! 5

[16 A] Before buying the Furman P-1800 PF R, I would always have nights where my guitar amp just didn't sound right. Varying electrical sources were killing the amp tone.
