A: No, that light is not designed to be used with a softbox.

Q: 3. What is the max amp draw of the LC-160?

A: 160w at 110v is about 1.5 amps.

Q: 4. can I use this with my profoto lights? will my speed rings work with this lantern soft box?

A: I used this with the profoto b2 light and it worked really well. The light needs to be pretty lightweight or else you'd need a really strong stand/arm/counterweight. Would be better with an exposed tube like the profoto pro lights but I was still very happy. I used it directly overhead a group of people at a table and also used it close to individuals for portraits.

A: I dont know.

A: The Single Carrying Case measures at 18 x16 x4.5 The Two Light Carrying Case measures in at 21 x14 x11

A: Very good point Justin. It takes a few minutes to build if you use the soft box. I would say the most difficult part is when for the first time you attempt to put everything back in the carriage box. Tricky but after a while you learn how to do it.

Q: 8. Is it really not possible to use a 500 watt bulb in this one?

A: Unfortunately, Chimera does not recommend a 500 watt tungsten lamp to be placed inside of this Pancake Lantern due to the excessive amount of heat that it will give off.

Q: 9. When folded, what is the dimension of one fixture? Also, what is the weight of the fixture itself? Thanks.

A: You can fold it down to 12x12" squares and the mat weights 2.3lbs.

Q: 10. What is the difference between v-mount and gold mount?

A: Just the battery mounts themselves. The V-mount uses the Sony Style batteries and the Gold-mount uses the Anton Bauer batteries. Other than that, no difference.

[Hook & Loop] I bought this Softbox to light a group sitting at a dinner table and it works great! With subtle adjustments of the people and position of the lantern, a variety of moods can be achieved. Chimera Softboxes are very easy to use, durable, compact and always deliver a great result. Only downside if I had to pick one is that they take up a lot of space. 5

[Hook & Loop] Great softbox, didn't really expect anything less coming from chimera. It takes little time to build, well-made, perfect overhead light. Was a little bigger than I imagined even though I had the dimensions, but it's perfect for getting a large soft source. 5

[Hook & Loop] I have used this on several small sets and have found it to be a great tool. I have put 213 globes into it and was impressed by it's output. Like all the pancakes it has the skirt and is very adjustable. The only downside is it is a bit tough to put together the first time. 5

[Hook & Loop] Overall I really love this, but two things... firstly I saw in another review that they were glad they went with the larger lantern because is barely reaches 4'. I think the 4' is diagonal, not long edge, so it is not really 4' and secondly, you get the impression that it fits any speed ring, and B & H lists several. But it did not fit any that I already had, and one was a speed ring recommended by B & H. You absolutely need to use the Chimera speed ring from Chimera with the spring loaded tabs. Most of the generic ones the holes are too small for the rods. 5

[Hook & Loop] I'm very happy with this Chimera lantern. It's a wonderful tool to create a soft lit area, a beautiful key light or add a nice eye light outside, either with a joker bug or a triolet. The skirt is perfect to control the light spilling around the set, as you can adjust four sides independently. Roll it up to the desired effect. Setting up is pretty easy, and it all packs into a small soft bag. Another fabulous product by Chimera. 5
