Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it useful for a Nikon D7100 with a Sigma 17-50 and a Nikon 70-300 VR?

A: Yes you can use it for both configurations but of course when using it with the 17-50mm, it will droop over more but will still be usable.

Q: 2. What's the difference between regular, Max 4, and Max 5?

A: Max 4 and Max 5 are two popular camouflage patterns designed by RealTree. Max 4 is a well established, popular pattern which we have been selling for many years. Max 5 is a newer pattern which also includes some green leaf elements. Both are great all round camouflage patterns.

Q: 3. Is this cap too large to fit a Nikon Z 24-70 F2.8 lens and lens hood? lens diameter looks to be about 4.25". thanks

A: This LensCoat RainCap Small would be fine for the Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8.

Q: 4. Can this rain cover be used in conjunction with a Gimbal head that is mounted on my tripod?

A: I would say yes. I use a pan and tilt head not a gimbal and the rain coat works fine. The way it attaches leaves the lens foot and plate exposed.

Q: 5. Can this sleeve also be used for shorter lenses like a 50mm 1.2L on a 5DM2?

A: I am not sure of the overall length of the set up you are describing. However, this system is very flexible. You will note that it has a drawsting on the lens end. This can be drawn down onto just about any lens. The rest is just velcro and fabric. Should work.

Q: 6. With a 100-400 zoom, what problems might I run into? Do you focus and zoom from the top outside the cinched up rain sleeve?

A: img/src=x test

Q: 7. What is the difference to the Lenscoat cap that comes with the lens protection package (not rain)?

A: I don't think I understand your question but I can tell you the cover is excellent. I used it in the Oregon rain and I was so glad I had it. I would recommend to have one in your kit.

Q: 8. How well does this fit the Sony 400 2.8 GM?

A: This would work well with a Sony Mirrorless camera and the 400mm f/2.8 GM. Used an A9ii and the 400 GM which is about 15 and half inches long without a lens hood.

Q: 9. Can use it with canon 1dx and 70-200 lens ?

A: Hello Caroline,I have not opened the box as I use Aqua Tech rain covers and bought these light weight covers to quickly put them on to avoid champgne damage for celebrations. But I am fairly sure the Lg is for a 300 2.8 or similar. The Med would fit your 70-200. Beware these are not full coverage for your body like Aqua Tech and using them in rain where you have your camera on your shoulder it does not offer much protection. Hope this is helpful. Q: 10. is it long enough for a canon 400mm f5.6 lens with hood fully extended and 1.4 extender and extension tubes added ( approximately 18 inches in length )?

A: Yes, the RainCoat Standard is 20 in length and will fit your setup. It is designed for the 400mm f/5.6 lens.

Good investment to protect my lens. The only thing I didn't realize is that its mainly for storage or carrying the lens...thought I could shoot with it on but it covers the whole lens. Since I take my lens backpacking wanted something that would protect but allow it to be used. I plan on just cutting holes for the lens controls.

works very well. use it to add that little extra padding when packing into a pelican case or similar. very expensive for what it is and the camo is not needed

When you spend so much $ on your lens', it would be foolish not to spend a little more to protect them. This is a simple and effective way to do so, as with all the Lenscoat products.
