Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a 105mm Nikkor AF D lens. it has a 52 mm opening. will it work with this ring adaptor

A: As your Nikon NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8 AF-D Micro Lens uses 52mm lenses, the Bolt 49mm Adapter Ring for VM-110 LED Macro Ring Light shown above would not work for your usage needs. The correct adapter ring was the Bolt 52mm Adapter Ring for VM-110 LED Macro Ring Light, B&H # BOVM110AR52. However, this item has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. As such, you may instead purchase both the Bolt 62mm Adapter Ring for VM-110 LED Macro Ring Light, B&H # BOVM110AR62, along with the Sensei PRO 52-62mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, B&H # SESURPA5262, to connect your Nikon NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8 AF-D Micro Lens to the Bolt VM-110 LED Macro Ring Light.

Q: 2. can this adapter be used on the Bolt VM-160 ring light?

A: No, the adapter ring will only adapt to the MF18 Macro Flash unit.

Q: 3. the 49mm Filter Thread is just female or male on one end and female on the other end?

A: The part of the adapter that attaches to the camera lens does not have threads and is a type of mount specific for the lens. And the front is a standard 49mm female thread for filters.

Q: 4. Does the adapter ring VM-110AR67 fit the VM-160?

A: Yes, the Bolt VM-110AR67 is also compatible with the Bolt VM-160 Ring Light.

Q: 5. I see in the picture that the lens mounted is an EFS, is it compatible with an EFS lens then? Is it compatible with my Canon 70D, and EFS lens?

A: This 67mm Reverse Mount Adapter works with both EF and EF-S lens with a 67mm filter thread.

Q: 6. Will this fit the Bolt VM-160 Macro ring light?

A: Yes, the Bolt 49mm Adapter Ring for VM-110 LED Macro Ring Light, B&H # BOVM110AR49, would also be compatible for use with the Bolt VM-160 LED Macro Ring Light, B&H # BOVM160.

Q: 7. Is the outside of this ring flat?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. does this work on Fujifilm finepix E900

A: No.

Q: 9. What is the outside diameter of the ring? I need one that is 77mm.

A: The outside diameter of this ring is 88mm.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Yongnuo 14EX II Macro flash?

A: No; the Nissin MF18 Macro Ring Flash is only compatible for use with the Nissin MF18 Macro Ring Flash. It is not compatible for use with the Yongnuo YN-24EX TTL Macro Flash for Canon Cameras. Yongnuo does not have a 62mm adapter ring designed for use with their YN-24EX Macro Flash. As such, I would recommend to purchase the Sensei PRO 62-67mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, B&H # SESURPA6267, and use the above step-up ring with the 67mm adapter ring included with the YN-24EX Macro Flash. This setup would allow you to use the macro flash with lenses that have a 62mm front filter thread.

[Aluminum] Most of my lenses are 67mm so it is essential to have an adapter on each of the lenses so I can switch lenses and not have to unscrew the magnetic adapter and put it onto a new lens but can just pop on one of the magnetic filters. I also got the lens caps for each of the lenses. Kase's magnetic properties on these accessories is pretty darn strong. I don't have to hear about having the filter fall off because the magnets not hard enough.

[Glass] Adapters for every lens filter threads, so you're ready to go no matter which filter you choose. I have an adapter on each of my main lenses. No screwing and unscrewing to use the filters on different lenses.

[Glass] It's a small thin adapter ring that gives Kase magnetic filters something to stick to. A warning, though: be sure the filters are fully stuck before letting go. The magnetic attraction isn't all that strong unless the filters are fully seated in the adapter. The ring is thin enough that lens shades can still slide over it without problems. It's a nice, convenient system that makes filter usage easy and quick.

[67 mm] When I tried to use my magnetic filters on one of my lenses I realized they wouldn't fit (designed for 77mm). B&H had the adapter I needed at a great price and got it to me quickly. 100% satisfied.

[Glass] The Case Wolverine Revolution system is simply the best out there right now that I've tried. The ingenious two-piece magnetic system makes changing filters (literally) a snap. The adapter ring sits very unobtrusively on your lens, and the filter(s) are almost impossibly thin as a result.

As for this particular ND filter? We took it to Albuquerque to photograph the annular eclipse in October 2023, and it was excellent. I'm not the most-experienced solar photographer, but the 16.5-stop measurement seemed to be about perfect for the job. I look forward to getting other filters in this size to use for different applications.

[67 mm] I bought this to go with the 900MM Tokina Mirror lens- and it did the job nicely. My plan to shoot the eclipse was eclipsed (see what I did there) by mother nature opting to lay a heavy dose of cloud cover above us in Hondo Texas, so my main goal was not achieved. But I will be using it on other solar situations, so I am not concerned.
