The ARRI DUB-2 Dovetail Utility Base | Camera Accessoryadapts ARRI CSS stabilizer dovetails for use with any cameras that are mounted onto an artemis Gen.1, Tiffen, or GPi Pro stabilizer. Use this baseplate during your camera prep or to quickly switch your stabilizer to a fluid head or onto a film cart using a stabilizer dovetail adapter mount (SAM).

Q: 1. Will this work for regular non Photo belts? Can you clip it to pants waistband if no belt (i.e. tux or dress pants?)

A: I shoot real estate and put the clip on the pocket of my shorts. It works great and makes for very easy and fast access to a speedlight. But, the edges are a bit sharp and will cut the fabric after a lot of use. (I might try a little electrical tape on the sharp edges to protect my shorts.) No belt is required for my purposes and it works very well.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the new 6k Pro version?

A: While we have not been able to test it with the new 6K Pro, the camera has different dimensions than the 4K/6K (it's larger) and might not sit completely correctly in the cage. It is our assumption that Wooden Camera will soon release a unified accessory kit for the 6K Pro separately.

Q: 3. I can't get the cold shoe off the mount! What am I doing wrong?

A: The cold shoe screws onto a male 1/4x20 threaded mount attached to a spigot. To remove the cold shoe; secure the spigot by tightening the screw that holds it in place, after the spigot is secured, not able to spin around, unscrew the cold show by gripping it and rotating it counter-clockwise. This should remove the cold shoe. If the cold shoe turns, but, does not separate from the mounting spigot, tighten the screw that secures the spigot until it no longer rotates.

Q: 4. Will it work with go pro hero 8?

A: Yes. The Sunpak Action Camera Accessory Kit will work for the GoPro Hero 8.

Q: 5. Does it have a screen protector?

A: It is designed to be compatible with many types of tablets under 10". It does not include a screen protector.

Q: 6. Which GoPro models is this compatible with?

A: The 3 accessories will fit all GoPro models: Either with a housing or the 2 mounting tabs on the bottom. Which means If the GoPro Hero Black series will need the skeleton case or The Supersuit. The Hero 9 Black will fit be with the adapters on the bottom.

Q: 7. Will this work with the Wooden Camera MFT to PL Mount Pro for MFT Cameras?

A: The Wooden Camera MFT to PL Mount Pro for MFT Cameras plate will fit into the base however the cage and handle cannot hold the Wooden Camera MFT to PL Mount Pro for MFT Cameras.

Q: 8. Will this fit the iPad mini (gen 6)?

A: The OtterBox Utility Series Latch II for 10" Tablets with Accessory Kit is only compatible with 10" tablets already housed in Otterbox cases.

Q: 9. Does a version of this dovetail exist for the Ronin XL ?

A: We are not aware of an Arri Dovetail for the Ronin-MX.

Q: 10. If you have a flash hanging off your belt or Spider Holster Pro and you crouch down and the flash presses against the top of your leg, will the clip come off your belt and the flash end up on the ground?

A: After awhile the locking mechanism begins to deteriorate and the plastic will rub down, your flash will not be safe. I dropped mine because of this many times. I really wish they made the locking part out of metal

A lot of Arri Dovetail plates are massive because they are meant to fit larger O'Connor plate bases, so I find it redundant to buy those types of dovetail adapters. I much prefer this 8Sinn adapter where you screw it onto your tripod's native plate (Manfrotto, Benro, Sirui, and some Sachtler and Miller tripod types). It's lighter weight takes up a lesser physical footprint on your tripod head. The 10 plate provides for plenty of travel to adjust balancing. It's also very cost effective compares to other companies' dovetail adapters. 5

Very cool plate! I like the build. I work with both 15mm lightweight and 19mm setups on sets and I can use Shape's dovetail plate with both of my bridge plates. Since I already had a pair of Shape's handles, they fit right on. Having that adjustable shoulder pad made my life a lot easier, it's super quick to balance both the pad sliding dovetail and the bridge plate on top. 5

I use this for those occasions when I need to quickly go from sticks to Ronin and back again. I just slide off the arri dovetail on the tripod and slide right on to the Ronin, balance, and Im ready to play. It does add weight to a Ronin setup so I only use this gag when time is crucial and its a one-off shot. If Im on the Ronin most of the day handheld, I tend towards a more stripped down setup. 5

If you're running Steadicam with a RED or an Alexa, this plate is awesome. You just slide off your dovetail on the sticks, and slide the camera rig onto your steadicam easy. 5

Solid little dovetail. Does the job I need it to do and it's super light and pretty cheap. It's a smallrig part, which means it's simple and cheap and effective and sturdy. Nothing fancy, but does the job. 5
