Helping to balance exposure when working in high-contrast situations, the 100 x 150mm LEE Filters Hard-Edge Graduated ND Filter 100x150mmfrom LEE Filters Hard-Edge Graduated ND Filter 100x150mmis specifically designed to selectively control brightness in difficult lighting. The filter's design places the 0.45, 1.5-stop density at the top of the filter and then transitions to clear by the center of the filter for a gradual, natural appearance. The hard-edge transition between the density and clear areas is well-suited for photographing scenes with an even, distinct horizon line, as well as when working with long or telephoto lenses. This filter is constructed from optical resin that is both durable and helps to maintain high clarity, and is compatible with the LEE 100mm filter holder.

Graduated neutral density places the most density at the edge of the filter and tapers to clear by the center of the filter in order to accommodate photographing scenes with large bright areas, such as a daytime sky.

Hard-edge transition between density and clear portions of the filter is suitable for photographing scenes with a distinct, well-defined horizon or line between light and shadow, and is also best-suited for use with a long or telephoto lens.

Neutral density 0.45 provides a 1.5-stop reduction in light in selective areas.

Constructed from optical resin for overall clarity and durability.

Compatible for use with the LEE 100mm filter holder.

Included filter pouch protects the filter when not in use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the difference between the Hard and Soft GND filters?

A: The Hard GND has a more sudden transition between ND filtered and unfiltered area, intended for filtering along a clear and straight line- generally a horizon line. The soft GND transitions over a wider area, giving a less apparent effect between ND filtered and unfiltered area of an image.

Q: 2. how many filters are in this kit?

A: This is one filter.

Q: 3. Can I hand hold this filter in front of my camera?

A: You can, but any movement may not give you the results you are after. I would get the holder and adapter ring. please review the following item LEE Filters LEE100 Filter Holder https://bhpho.to/3B3Qwdn

Q: 4. Is this the LEE Classic 100*150 sized filters?

A: The LEE 4x6 Graduated ND Resin Filter Set is 100x150mm, and are 2mm thick.

Q: 5. Is there a glass one of these?

A: Per reply from Lee Filters today, all of their graduated filters are manufactured in resin only.

Q: 6. can anyone tell me this is the soft set or the hard set? thanks

A: The LEE Filters 4x6 Graduated ND Resin Filter Set (0.3, 0.6, 0.9) listed above is the hard filter set; the LEE Filters Graduated Neutral Density Soft Filter Set 4 x 6 - Consists of Three Graduated ND (Neutral Density) Filters (.3, .6, .9) - Soft Transition, B&H # LENDGSS Mfr # SET-RESIN-NDGS, would be the soft filter set.

A: Yes that filter fits the SW150, and the SW150 system fits that lens - but you need the right adaptor - Lee make specific adaptors for different lenses. The Big Stopper is fantastic for doing really long time exposures.

A: Hard ones

[Rigid Plastic] Whenever I shoot mountain shots I like to use the Lee filters. They are a bit expensive but great.

[0.2 lb] I use the hard filters the most in my landscape photography, especially for hard horizon lines. While the resin filters aren't as great as all my other ProGlass, LittleStopper, and BigStopper LEE filters, they server their purpose and so far I have not seen any degradation in image quality. I am producing BEAUTIFUL photographs all thanks to LEE. And it's even more fun to play with my results in post.

[0.2 lb] I use this filter for mainly my landscape stuff and it does wonders for exposure control. I also have the .6 and find it a little light for more intense lit shots. This .9 is awesome for sunrise or sunset shotsand holds just enoguh light back to retain detail throughout the picture. Only thing is these aren't cheap, especially once you consider the Lee holders. Well worth the money if you do landscape photos though!

[0.2 lb] If you're looking into buying these you know what they are for and what they do. Lee is one of the higher tier filter producers so you can't go wrong with the brand, and the larger filter size allows hand holding when its more convenient than using a filter holder.
