Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can a filter of the same thread diameter be used with the lens hood in place?

A: Yes, you can attach the filter to the lens first and then the hood on top or attach the hood first and then screw the filter into the hood.

Q: 2. How deep is the cap on the inside?

A: The depth of the cap is approximately 2/8-3/8".

Q: 3. will this fit a z6ii 24-200 mm lens?

A: Yes, the Nikon 67mm Snap-on lens cap will accommodate the Nikon 24-120 lens.

Q: 4. Does this lens hood work for a Nikon P900?

A: In 18mm you might have problem with the hood vignetting, but the beauty about it, is you can collapse it to remove the vignette. On photographing at a extra wide lens setting, the hood can slide back out of the way in an instant. The best thing about it is that you can screw it onto the outside of your circular polarizer and it makes adjusting more easy by rotating the hood.

Q: 5. Can this front Lens Cap (Leica67mm Clip-on Lens Cap) be use in a Leica SL Apo Summicron 90mm?

A: The Leica SL Apo Summicron 90mm has a67mm filter threads so any 67mm lens cap will fit.

Q: 6. Will this lens hood work on a Nikon p900 ?

A: You can use it , it might vignette on wide angle , if that happens you can push the hood inwards

Q: 7. Will this hood work with the Nikkor AF-S DX 18-300 f/3.5-6.3 ED VR lense? I see that some of the hoods available only work with specific zoom lengths.

A: The B+W 67mm #900 Rubber Lens Hood would fit onto the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR Lens as the lens has 67mm filter threads. However, as indicated under the Overview for the lens hood, the hood is designed for use with normal-length and short zoom lenses. I cannot guarantee the B+W 67mm #900 Rubber Lens Hood will cover the zoom range of the 18-300 f/3.5-6.3 ED VR lens. The rubber lens hood that would most closely match the zoom range of the Nikon 18-300mm lens would be the Hama 67mm Screw-In Rubber Zoom Lens Hood for 24mm to 210mm Lenses, B&H # HALHZ67. http://bhpho.to/1yuEumX

Q: 8. For the 67mm model, what is the diameter of the hood when collapsed and uncollapsed, respectively?

A: The 67mm hood is 1/2 inch when collapsed, and 1 and 1/2 inches when open.

Q: 9. Can it fit to Canon ef 85mm f/1.2 l lens?

A: Yes!! Perfectly!

Q: 10. Nikon 70-200 f4

A: I have the Nikon 70-200 2.8 so I'm not sure. Sorry!

[Glass] First thing I was told... Linear Polarizer Filters will not work with my Canon 7D (and other digital cameras). Supposedly autofocus malfunctions. WRONG! Attached to my EFS10-22mm, autofocus works no different than normal. I've used Linear Polarizers on my EFS18-200mm and 70-300mm lenses without issue. Combined with Depth-Of-Field tweaking, the Linear filter works great when photographing well defined clouds or objects agains't the sky. I say put this will not work with rumor in the Untrue folder next to claims regarding Nitrogen filled tires. I've tested both claims and found them inaccurate. To me, Linear Polarizer filters are an important part of my camera kit. I prefer them over Circular Polarizer filters.

[0.175 lb] Highly recommended.

I purchased a 4-stop ND filter (1.2). It never comes off my Sigma 105mm f/1.4.

Practically all my headshots and portraits (250 clients) since the purchase were taken with this filter. I can keep the shutter speed in a reasonable range with strobes (1/30 -- 1/200) without relying on high-speed sync. I can also keep the strobes at a reasonable range (1/4 -- 1/128), which wouldn't be possible without a 4-stop loss of light transmission.

Other ND filters have funky colors - maybe I was lucky but this one has not created any noticeable color shift. Thank you Formatt!!

[Glass] I've been refining my ultra slow photography techniques for about a year now and figured it was time to graduate to 'the beast' - Firecrest's Nd1600. The results are amazing with the clarity I was hoping for, minimal barreling and silky smooth threading onto my lens.

Ultra slow photography is the most technically challenging in my photo skill set (I use a Pluto Trigger to do the math for me) and having a reliable 16 stop filter to rely on helps keep me focused on the art rather than the techno details.

[0.175 lb] I didn't see any reviews here, so I'd chime in:

I purchased this with the Sigma 105mm f/1.4, and surprised that it has no noticeably color cast (compared to some ND filters for my 85mm lens).

I'm quite satisfied. The glass is very thin and light, like 30-50% of the weight of a UV filter for the same diameter.

I use this to get wider apertures in the studio setting, given that my strobes can remain fairly strong, and the ambient lighting can either be cut at higher shutter speeds (1/200) or introduced at lower speeds (1/30-1/60). A joy to use.

[0.175 lb] suppose you want to shoot wide open f/ 1.4 or f/1.2.. counting down from the "sunny 16 rules" from a bright sunny day, you would need a 2-3 stop worth of ND filter for the camera to be able to shoot at that open aperature, this can do it!! The mild color cast is easily adjusted post.

[0.175 lb] Rotating polas require turning to achieve the optimal effect, I choose the linear pola, no turning, just drop in your matte box and shoot.

[Glass] Another ND filter in my tool kit. Different brands can produce somewhat different effects. Some people like it, other's don't. I prefer to look at it as another option when making my picture. It is nice to have options. Optical quality is awesome, and that is what matters.

[0.175 lb] Hi,

Purchased in late 2020 for Sigma 105mm 1.4 (Nikon).

This ND filter is really good because it does not create any color cast. The ND allows me to use the lens at f1.4 without overexposing the shadows (while using my strobes). It is a great ND filter, more neutral than a few others I purchased for a 85mm 1.8.

High recommendations.
