The 2-Pack of the Desmond DPL-100 Quick Release Plate 2-Pack 100mmfrom Desmond DPL-100 Quick Release Plate 2-Pack 100mmcontains a pair of 100mm long, Arca-type compatible quick release plates designed to help you more properly balance a camera with a larger lens attached. It features an aluminum construction with a 1/4"-20 screw for attaching a camera or lens collar. There are two safety stop screws included to prevent movement after the plate slides a certain distance and twin backstop flanges for a tight fit to a camera body when possible. Allen keys are included for convenience.

While not designed for this usage, depending on the length of your lens' tripod collar's base, the Peak Design AL-4 Anchor Links may be used in one of the three holes.

[Aluminum] I use this for a Celestron C90 spotting scope, to mount it with an Arca compatible clamp. Gets the job done much more affordably than many major name brands. 5

[Yes] Ive been a photographer a long time, and Im still having trouble imagining a long lens big enough to put this on. Given that, this has a use and its a really good one: it is about as long as the entire bottom of a Nikon pro DSLR. Being able to slide the camera side-to-side across the head gives you a lot of creative options. Plus, the camera just looks better with the longer plate on it. 5

[0.39 lb] I use this on my Sony RX10 (with its big zoom lens) to help balance the load when on a tripod. This puts less strain on the ball head, and ensures no motion. Works great! Lightweight and strong, too. 5

[Yes] Does what it is supposed to do.. Nice build quality and finish. I dont find any reason to go for high end plates. Buy this and save your money... No regrets 5

[0.39 lb] When attached in the center of the lens's foot, (as a T handle), this is what the original foot should have been, You can EASILY carry the camera body by holding the lens from the bottom. Obviously great on any Arca ball head. Similarly with the 300mm f/4. The Oly Arca implementation is too short/stubby. Nice finish from what appears a solid piece of milled metal, not like some others that are castings. 5
